Aiming Trajectory for Harvesting a Pig

I observed my first miss recently. I was quietly angry at the guy at first then I saw the shot placement was perfect. Later I took care to isolate the skull and found a sinus path that completely missed the brain cavity.

Could I use a .22 revolver for this with some LR? I’m just wondering, as sometimes a rifle won’t go where a pistol would. I know velocities would be affected but not sure if it would be enough to matter at those distances anyway.

Good Stuff! Just found your channel. After I missed a couple of forehead shots, I talked to my mobile slaughter guy, and he showed me how to hit them right behind the ear. So now, with a .22LR, I get an instant knock down, and my customer can quickly stick and bleed the pig. Since adopting this strategy I have never had to chase a pig to get a second shot. One caveat -- I am not hunting down my critters in a blackberry thicket! They are usually in a hog walker sniffing at some food on the ground.
