roll cage for street car? yes
@lmbtcs18798 жыл бұрын
unless you want to start wearing hot and stuffy helmet everyday that is. or else your head will bang on the roll cage and cause you more damage
@Jonaszthc8 жыл бұрын
rolcage has some minus, but you do no't die at 40mp/h. but you can fasten tighter the four-point seat belts and no problem with your head
@lmbtcs18798 жыл бұрын
Jonaszthc well you wont die at 40 mph as the normal standard for iihs is 50. And also the rollcage takes up a lot of space and makes getting in and out of the car a hard task.
@Jonaszthc8 жыл бұрын
probably in this year I install a roll cage in my car, I'm young person so sometimes pull pedal to the ground and my car has about 5.5 sec to 60 mph and drive on bad condition roads, so probably I don,t die when my car hit the tree or something else. We see. I have a lot of space in my car, and drive alone or with one passanger this is no problem ;)

but what when you hit somebody young man? rest young in prison>?

Starts talking about side impacts..... whole video is about the imprint of a frontal crash.....
@andreasausmuc13 жыл бұрын
Now that´s impressive. Seems as if the safety cage would hold the car together ...

You can hit a barrier perpendicular at Laguna seca right before the corkscrew. This is important due to many American tracks don't have the energy absorbing barrier. Thanks.
@dkdanis13402 жыл бұрын
They have a lot of absorbing barriers

that car in all honesty did shit in the front impact. Yes, it's 102kph but the steering column movement is insane!
@mxhst.66685 жыл бұрын
@Mohammed Lee I hear that it has to do with a crumble areas in the car that will either absorb alot of the kinetic energy from going at any speed, resulting in a more cushioned impact allowing the car to stop sooner and be able to absorb more damage that otherwise would have been dealt to the driver. But I would like to fully protect and cage my engine bay too to protect my cool ass engine(when its done) from getting all beat up and totaled. I hope science soon comes up with a even better way to protect the drivers, as well as the whole car(if not, maybe only more engine bay protection).

Its a race car so its missing all of the usual safety features like a collapsible steering column.

"you wouldn't find a circuit anywhere that you could actually run absolutely square on" .. motorsport is unpredictable, anything can happen, if you crash into a corner at the correct angle you could. plenty of evidence in oval racing. smh

i always wondered, does the roll cage go into where the engine goes?
@lmbtcs18798 жыл бұрын
no, its just the cockpit
@milithemuffin45348 жыл бұрын
It often does in derby cars, and some off road trucks also have exo cage going around the body.
@gosportjamie6 жыл бұрын
+Sean Mathias Not really the roll cage as such, but the upper shock mounts and other items are hung off an extension frame that comes off the roll cage and safety structure. It's almost a space frame chassis inside a road car body...

Can you guys reupload this for 2023 in at least 720p lol Love the info but needs modern information

That's why racetracks have sandpits and tire walls so a crash like this would be pretty much impossible.

Race cars are so safe these days your biggest worry would be the G-Force of the Impact and not the crash itself. Racing has never been as safe as it is today.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKLJq56bl9B1mckfeature=shared. Whats your thoughts on this cage ? I’ve got the same one in my evo 7 , the main hoop completely fell apart when the car went over on its side which and the roof was in a hedge. Roof bars, main hoop and the rear hoop made from sections broke at the welds. MSA and custom cages are completely useless, refusing to help the why this was classified as safe when it clearly isn’t. Anyone who has the same cage should be aware that it’s dangerous
