You see, right after the founding of the Sorcerer Kingdom Ainz wasnt sure on how to lead it, so he used his Spy Mirror to watch over Jirvnic, however unbeknown to Ainz, using the Mirror for prolongued times has a side effect of causing paranoia on whoever is being viewed. This is why Jirvnic was so scared of what would Ainz do next and panickly surrendered his kingdom to him. What happened was more of unintentionally putting your oponnent in the desired position.

Its honestly my favorite arc of the series. This amazing outcome done entirely through purest chance and bad luck sending an already borderline nervous wreck over the edge and confirming his worst fears. And imagine for a moment that it HAD been a plan. Imagine if ainz HAD shown up right then specifically to strangle any attempt jircniv had to form an alliance with anyone but him. Someone able to pull that off, despite your best attempts to avoid it, despite the most paranoid steps you tried to keep it secret, would obviously be far too powerful and skilled to be overcome. So total capitulation is the only outcome left to you. Because he knows what you tried to do, and if you dont make up for it right now, who knows what he may do in revenge?

It's kind of amusing that at this point, Ainz is best off thinking one step at a time. If he were to TRY to plan 3-6 steps ahead it would become obvious. On the flipside, because he never plans that far ahead, his actions seem unreadable. "It'd be nice to check out the Empire, but borders are a hassle. Let's sneak in.." turns into "Jircniv is plotting an alliance of nations, best pop over and nip that in the bud since I knew about it from the start and now is the perfect chance"

That scene of Ainz greeting Jircniv was so much more intimidating compared to when I remember it in LN. They did great with the animation and voice acting. I like Jircniv but I enjoy seeing him lose it. I hope to see them interact more, I love their one-sided friendship. In the LN Jircniv was heckling so much that Ainz thought to himself "Is he really that of a sports fanatic?" This whole moment was a riot. 🤣
