AIO Water cooling HACK!!

DO NOT ATTEMPT! I am a professional idiot, and this most definitely voids any warranty i had.
So yah, i got tired of listening to bubbles splash around threw the pump. so i added a reservoir as the high point in the system to separate the air out before it gets to the pump.

I did exactly the same thing on an old case and it's a setup that ran strong for years before I upgraded it to a different AIO. The only issue I've ever had is my first AIO motor died after a couple years but it was an ancient AIO to begin with, probably over 10 years old. Anyway, this is a good way to get more life out of an AIO that is losing fluid to evaporation - and looks awesome too. Greeting from Brazil. That's a shame, man. 9 likes and 2 comments in two years? Your video is amazing. Period. I've just bought my first aio water cooler and I'm already doing my research to know what I will do when the coolant starts to permeate the tubing / evaporate, in 4 or 5 years from now, that's how I ended up here. I have the same idea: placing a reservoir higher than the pump and let the pump do it's job. Better than installing a secondary pump at the bottom of the system. I have no intention of changing my aio for a custom loop cooler because I really like the lcd screen in front of the pump. It's shiny and I like it. And don't worry about the hands. Mine gets like this when I change the oil of my motorcycle as well. Meh... I don't care.

ahhahah am planing to merge 2 aios :P and i stumbled upon this gem :D and what a surprise...the same AIO i have hahahaha.. the best coolant homemade that is better than majority premade coolant is 9 parts of demineralized water and 1 part of g12 antifreeze... ofc if u have aluminum radiators like this one is :D

5:57 Yes it is just diluted radiator fluid. it's the exact same coolant. except that it cant be corrosive to the metals inside the radiator

Correct! which is why i surprised to see it in the aio. That said, its been a while, and ive done some digging and found a suitable coolant that i can get access to threw work, and is safe on aluminum parts where there are other mettles as well. (European blue coolant if your wondering, vw if memory serves)

This video really proves: There is a video for everything. And yours was really helpfull too. I thought about cracking the Coolermaster open for some time now. I did solve the problem with the air in the pump by mounting the radiator in top of my case. So the airbubbles are up there. I actually did not care about the noise. I did it, because i heard, that bubbles in the pump damage the pump itself over time. Really want to do this, because i just wanna tinker on something and dip a toe into custom loops for cheap. What do you think the inner diameter of the tubing is? Like 5mm? Is your solution still holding up? Cheers!

Glad i could help! Its still holding up great actually! Though i did recently swap out the cheep automotive hose for some clear tubing just for looks. I think 5mm is about right, i used 1/4in tube but i think there close enough to be interchangeable.

U can just use automotive coolant, I did this 8 years ago to my 4790k, worked just fine in my system, I have a H60 corsair AIO, the pump still works fine, just clean the block fins and replace the coolant every 2 years.

Yup! ive since flushed that coolant out and replaces it with Euro blue coolant, VW if i remember right. Its better suited for systems where there is multiple types of mettle and is supposed to prevent corrosion better on aluminum.

From Ebay, the add was mostly Chinese but the images were enough to go off of and I bought it on a prayer that it wouldn't leak. Still working great to this day!

90c, its high yes, but still within Intell's ""safe range"" That said, its actually come down over the years as the graphite thermal pad has "setteled" into place that same test now only hits in the mid-low 80s
