My hotwell water ph is less than 8 but boiler water ph is 12.. how can i maintain both in range?
@jahanzabbaloch234Ай бұрын
We use unitor chemicals
@ShrimptoSharkАй бұрын
Check the hot well for any oil traces or contaminants (use boiler coagulant to make oil particles rise and be visible in the surface). If you dose directly in the hotwell and no change is observed then check the quality of the distillate being produced from the Evaporators.

@@ShrimptoShark quality of distille water from FWG?
@ShrimptoSharkАй бұрын
Hahaha that's correct on these cruise vessels we are used to calling the fwg, Evaporators. Correct try from the sample point to test to see if it is highly acidic (which it shouldn't be)

The hardest part for me is working with people who have done this hundreds of time before. Since I don't want to slow the job down, I have to try to capture as much as I can with the little time I am able to ovserve individual steps. This is and will continue to be a painful journey but I hope it eventually becomes easier.

It's true that they should be avoided but youd be surprised in the stuff that some ships use. It all depends on the quality of materials your provider gives.

pls tell us the detail procedure how to send bunker sample for laboratory test? i mean what are the paperworks we have to do?
@ShrimptoSharkАй бұрын
I would ask a Chief engineer for paperwork information, but it's usually filling out a form the lab provides and sending it in a box with one of the sample bottles sealed with a marked cable tie

There is no water left in the pump glass and it cannot create vacuum. What do you think is the reason?
@ShrimptoShark3 ай бұрын
It could be various things, does it lose all water suddenly or is it something gradual? If there are standby pumps does this happen to all pumps or just one is specific? Do the pumps run frequently due to suspected vacuum leak?
@ShrimptoShark3 ай бұрын
This is because if it is just one pump you can check the flap in case it is clogged with something, if there is a vacuum leak in the acomodation it will cause the vacuum pumps to run without the toilets giving new water to the line causing the pipeline to be dry (there may be a connection to connect a hose and prime the line for flush the toilets full of water various times. Just some ideas, remote troubleshooting is always difficult.

Can you teach me about (alkelanity control) chemical Please Just the procedure for adding
@ShrimptoShark4 ай бұрын
You should dose depending on the pH value of the water analysis results. Depending on the pressure system of your boiler you can add alkalinity control to the chemical dosing tank or hot well
