Cool. Your setup was in inspiration for me. I ended up getting the AC300 & one B300 on sale. Figure their is room for major expansion if I go down that road. I'm slowly figuring out the solar panels and watts needed for my small home. Two weeks after I got the AC300 we had a 9 hour grid down, (snow storm knocked trees down) it powered the frig, tv, computer, enough to ride it out. Very pleased I got it! Sorry to hear about the house flood.

I’m here sweating in a hot room on a summer day watching this video. I’m wanting to do this so I can be cool all day and night. I need to go order myself a whole Bluetti system and hook it all up to my AC that I’m too scared to plug in and turn on because of such high electricity bills here in Southern California.

I`m slowly building a system for my tiny 5000btu Frigidaire window AC. I would love to have a setup like this but all I had in my savings after getting my camper set up was just enough to get a 12v 300ah Ampere Time battery, 2000w inverter, and a 60 amp MPPT charge controller. I`ve been buying more parts each month since August. I need 290w of panels to match my others to have 780w of solar by April but I need some switches and a battery meter. I`m gonna get another 190w panel next month and hopefully the rest the next month and begin planning the setup. A starving dog showed up that somebody dumped and my sister the loon refused to help me so I had to feed it and get it a dog house. I`m on a small disability income with no transportation in the middle of nowhere in a hurricane zone so I had to get a source of electricity on site that requires no gas. I hope to keep adding panels in the future so it charges up rapidly on partly cloudy days and can get enough power to still use some on mostly cloudy days. I hope to not only have emergency power but cut my electric bill by at least 75%.
@OffGridSolarSmartHouse
@OffGridSolarSmartHouse Жыл бұрын
It sounds like you have a solid plan in place. To run a 5000 btu air con should be around 500 watts of solar so your 780 watts should be plenty.

@@OffGridSolarSmartHouse I got a 20 amp LiFeP04 plug in charger with it so I can top it off before severe storms. We`ve had a few power outages since I bought it and it was nice to have plenty of power for my microwave and air conditioner when I needed it. I bought two Bluetti EB70 power stations a couple of years ago and got two cheap 500 watt ones and cheap smaller ones whenever I saw discounts. Back then 300ah batteries were about 3000 bucks and when I saw the prices had fallen I had just enough to get one thank goodness. I`ve bought lots of things I can use with all of this like low wattage cookers, 12v and USB fans, cup and bucket water heaters, a dorm fridge, electric blanket, and two half size box freezers. I was born in the mid 1960s so this stuff is like a Star Trek sci-fi miracle to me. LOL! We used to have to lug around massive batteries even in our flashlights. We needed a mule to get the gear to a campsite. I can`t believe all this new technology.

I noticed a lot of things with the AC200MAX. Not only is it heavy, It does take a long time to charge it thru the AC wall outlet.

Yes, if you charge the AC200Max with the wall charger it can take up to 4-4.5 hours depending on if you got the 400 watt charger or 500 watt charger. I have a video coming out soon showing off the enhanced charger. I brining in around 1150 watts of solar and charging the Max up fast.

free if you dont count the price of the bluetti and panels. How many thousands again is that system? Look, Im all for off grid, and living minimally. But simply maximizing insulation will make for a way cheaper overall build, (assuming somebody is building their domicile). Or if you are in a regular home or apartment using mains is a heck of a lot cheaper allowing you to save up for that time you can build your own place with max insulation.
@OffGridSolarSmartHouse
@OffGridSolarSmartHouse 2 жыл бұрын
Your correct. It's only free after you recoup the cost of the bluetti, panels, and wires. This isn't ideal for apartments or renters. I spend around 4.5k on the system.

@@OffGridSolarSmartHouse how much would it cost if you were just on the grid? and how much for the year? Can you check how fast you can charge an electric car with it? and can you do it with just solar?
@OffGridSolarSmartHouse
@OffGridSolarSmartHouse 2 жыл бұрын
I'd be paying around 100 easy in the summer for electricity. Right now I'm at 8 dollars a month. For an electric car depends. If it's a small electric car with a small battery like the Kia soul ev with a 30 kWh battery. You could probs charge it from zero to full in two days. If it's a Tesla with a 230 kWh battery it will take awhile.

“Free” - some people might call it not so free when the system to get the free ac costs $4000. I could pay my electric bill for 3-4 years with that money. It feels good but logically it just doesn’t pay off immediately. Batteries wear out. Does it ever pay for itself? Maybe. Maybe not. It sure isn’t free anything. Ever looked into how much co2 is produced making panels and batteries? You seem like that would matter to you. Might be better or just as good on the coal powered grid. EVs are mostly coal powered cars lol. However having one for outages is a must with our unreliable 3rd world electricity grid. Pays off big time if it keeps you electrified during extended power outages.

Yes, you're right. The title is click bait for sure. I should get my ROI within 3 years maybe less if the rates keep going up. My system has saved me at least 5 times with the power grid going dark.

Inspiring. It has me wondering why I should even bother with stuff that's a bit more pre-made when I can get more capacity and panels from Renogy, along with the A/C. . . for less than the Ecoflow wave 2 and compatible Delta system. A reliability matter? Maybe it's for luxury more than just survival? Anyway, thanks for the great idea.

Hi we have a generator but I’ve been thinking about emps. Plus this is quiet in a grid down situation. We currently don’t have an off grid home but I am thinking about that down the road. Mainly for emergencies. I have a plug just for my generator but it’s outside unfortunately and I wouldn’t want to leave the power station outdoors. But if I had to use it inside for the frig and small window AC 5000 BTUs, which unit do I need and how many solar panels? I watched the video but I don’t think that I heard any of that

You could get the Ac200Max with a spare battery B300. This would allow you to run a small ac for around 10 hours or more. Depends on the temps how long the air con compressor is on and so forth. Also if you have solar panels this would extend the time.
