Thanks! I always take a ‘before’ pic just to cross reference to make sure all the connections are back in / on the correct spade. Probably OTT , but peace of mind 👍🏼

Its a common problem on this type of mitsi system. I've lost count how many I've had to replace over the last few years . Hopefully the new r32 systems won't have this issue . Great video mate, im looking forward to the next one 👍

Hi I think the yellow fluke meter only measures really low resistance up to 1 kilo ohm. Anything higher it will OL And a trick I do is to put different colour tape on the cables for different boards, makes it easier not to miss a cable when fitting boards back. But thanks for video, some great tips there. Love the tools...I need to upgrade 😂
@rscelectrical70914 жыл бұрын
Mark Lawrie: Your spot on mate, the fluke T5 only measures up to 1k. Think it was intended for Sparks doing front line fault finding originally so didn't need a high resistance range. It's ideal for quick voltage checks, testing continuity of fuses etc.

Nah mate you don't spread the heat paste with your finger. You put a bead down the center and it spreads when the board is being tightened down. When you spread it that thin before it gets squished anymore it doesn't attract heat as well and can get on the actual board itself and then cause damage. My company has had a hell of a time with vrfs because they are new in our market and nobody wants to put in the effort to learn. Thanks for the video

thanks for all the effort you put into your vids are are really useful. Question about request code 106. I cross checked in the par manual the list of R codes and 105 and 106 are not on their list. Just wondering where you got the info from for that request code. Much appreciated

@nicholasgoodridge82973 жыл бұрын
I've had to change a couple of those as well. The reason I believe they are failing is because the thermal grease the manufacturer uses is garbage. You can tell from how hard and flaky the grease and also how it seems to have not spread evenly on the old power transistor chip I've started using the thermal grease my brother uses on PC CPUS' and GPUS'. Actually seen 8-12 degree cooler temperatures since I've started doing this.
@hvacuk89753 жыл бұрын
Really ? Might look into that mate ! I’ve always just used what has been supplied with the PCB but to be fair even new it is usually quite hard to apply 👍🏼

If you know if the T8 thermistor is supposed to be an NTC or PTC, and what K Ohms it should be at 77 degrees Fahrenheit or the Celsius equivalent, can't you solder in a new thermistor ordered from a manufacturer? If it's 10K Ohm, sounds realistic
@kaimccalla29364 жыл бұрын
It's more cost effective and less time consuming especially as there was some heat damage to the board. Common issue on the mitsi slims

Ah. Bad thermistor, so the board gets changed... Thanks Mitsubishi. Now a PCB gets scrapped and laborers in India melt it, polute the environment doing so for penny's, then the customer pays a fortune for something that should have been designed to be serviced. Energy efficiency for the environments sake? Yeah, read into it more.. It may surprise you
@Grazzymeow4 жыл бұрын
Going from the colour of thst heatsink I wouldn't be surprised if the board was on its way out. The heatsink paste unfortunately doesn't last forever so these boards are prone to eventually burn themselves out.
@sknight03914 жыл бұрын
I've never understood why Fluke "supposedly the best" meters don't have ohms for crap! you spend that much money on something you should be able to ohm anything. My favorite pair of needle nose pliers are my NWS 140-49-200. Those Germans really know how to make a nice set of grips on the handles.
@sterlingarcher464 жыл бұрын
This particular Fluke meter is a bloody joke in my opinion, I had one at a previous job , other than voltage and maybe amps ( although not precise ) it's really taking the piss... I think it's because Fluke caters to electricians and they don't seem to take us very seriously, they don't understand what they're missing with the hvac market , we arguably buy more tools than sparks ! I just watched one of your videos btw 🤜🤛
