My nostalgic rides and partner? All over Eastern Ontario with my wife before we had a child... me on my 'Busa or TL1000R, her on her GSX-R750. We put so many touring miles on those sporty machines, I truly miss those days. When we moved to BC, she hung up her helmet... now I ride mostly alone.

My wife has never ridden, and just enjoys the back. The TL1000R was an interesting bike - not too many around.

Great editing BMR. Good to see you again Andy and your new ride. I agree; air cooled twins, especially of the cafe racer persuasion, are the cat's meow on the twisty back lanes. Had the RE 650 Continental been out when I was looking to put together a cafe racer I would have picked one up rather than my R9T. The sound of the RE with the SS aftermarket cans will sound oh so sweet. Kind regards fellows.

We'll need to do a ride with the three of us.

As Andy says, the three of us should get out for a rumble once this rain has ceased. A few social things coming up in May but June looks clearish...

Lived in Port Alberni for a couple years in late 60's early 70's. Had a brand new Honda CB-450 and did a number of the rides you've been documenting. I watch for familiar scenes, but much has changed since then. I do recall for a number of years there was a sort of Used everything emporium alongside the highway north of Victoria, and sitting there was a WW 2 Curtis P-40 Warhawk. It eventually disappeared so I assume (and hope) it went to a museum. Didn't make it back to the Island many times, with the latest being in 2016 when I attended a large gathering of 'older' riders in Gold River. Good memories, good times.

Great story, Ron. I think you are talking about the old Wippletree Junction emporium - not sure if it was a Curtis or a Spit, but I remember it well! Yes the island has changed quite a bit from those times, but if you know where to look, you can still find that old island charm. Cheers.

Great job on the editing and really great to get the inside scoop on your camera mountings. I thoroughly enjoyed that ride. Fantastic to get back out there with you again. Must do that again really soon, (he says, watching the rain and easterly winds pounding at his windows). Where to next? We might have to revisit Gold River or Tofino. Yea, fantastic video. Really enjoyed the close ups on my boots. LOL!! Disappointed they're not in your Amazon links.

LOL, those boots are a testament to longevity! If they still made them, I'd link to them :-). Yes got to go out again, but I hear you about the weather right now. Looks like a weekend washout, but hopefully soon. I'll mail you. Cheers.

Like Andy, I own a Royal Enfield Continental GT650 in Rocker Red. I think that it is beautiful.

I agree - lustrous paint and very photogenic.

Waaaay less fingerprints than the chrome tank. ;) The way I see it, if you're going to have a Royal Enfield it had better be red! Are you near Vancouver Island, Gary?
@gary14777 ай бұрын
@@Sludgepump No, Australia. Rocker Red is also a nod to the 1964 Royal Enfield Continental GT 250 and the later Continental GT 535.
