Too much automation and complex instrumentation. A marvel of engineering none the less. What can we say about the skills and calmness of the pilots? Qantas has a reputation for having the best pilots in the world, their safety record speaks for itself

The crew of Qantas 32 are heroes, especially I consider Richard de Crespigny a true legend, this is world-class crewwork and the feats of de Crespigny is simply legendary IMHO 🤩😍😇😎 He should be Sir. Richard de Crespigny 😇

This was an amazing bit of flying and teamwork. Richard de Crespigny has only ever been recognized by his peers and I really don't understand why he was not nominated of an Order of Australia. The A380 remains my favourite plane to fly on.

Not at all. 40 years of flying experience including 10 in the military for captain De Crespigany ; the result of this safe landing has nothing to do with Alan Joyce or his leadership, but of the 5 wise experienced pilots that flew it.

I think planes should have rear view mirrors like cars so pilots can see the engines. Like some of the new cars with are just cameras so only a small lens is needed.
@brefothomas87105 ай бұрын
I’ve Been thinking about it that same way buh maybe because of aerodynamic system, you knw plane must be designed in an angular shape to travel faster through thick atmosphere due to weight so any disturb shape could barley help it fly

"Simulator from hell", that's what the whole incident looked like, but obviously it happened in real life. That's also why it's important to train many different scenarious with a simulator, because this kind of an incident definitely can happen, even though it's very unlikely to happen to you.

it was never answered, at least here, why such a piece of pipe could have been manufactured, went to several stages of quality control ( it did, didn't it?). So, even back then, and not only with Boeing, quality control was and still is, a big problem. And the maker of those pipes? Does not deliver anymore,is gone bankrupt, has ceased to exist... So we cant hold anyone responsible.. The maker of those pipes? Just opened shop und a different name, and it is business as usual.. Must have been a local manufacturer. Because if it was a -Chinese -, we would have heard for sure, broad and wide and all over the place. How shoddy they work. And how their lousy work nearly brought down this oh so super,big, and safe plane.

@Samir-dy6le6 ай бұрын
It's not a typical engine failure, dumbass. They had damage to their hydraulics, ones connected to the gear, spoilers and ailerons. Plus, they do not know that their plane is not more damaged than they might expect. Unfortunately for them, they did not have the hindsight you had behind your screen typing the comment.
@catprog5 ай бұрын
And in loosing one the debris went through many of the control lines for the rest of the plane.
