***CRAFTING ADVICE*** When using tape to help hold a form especially rounded items, use black electrical tape. It’s stretchy and easier for adhering rounded items. Many crafters purposely use the black electrical tape because it’s so easy to manipulate to what you need for crafting. It’s easy to remove as well. Painting pattern lines is another excellent use with electrical tape. Thank you for another video. I absolutely love watching them and listening to your very soothing and peaceful voice. ❤

Thanks for the tip, the electrical tape that I know is very thick and plasticky, I have lots in the garage .... electrical engineer as a Dad ❤ Thank you glad you enjoy watching my videos ❤

Love your videos and this lovely pot! I want to make a small planter that I can plant my plant directly. How do I make it waterproof? Would you mind share some of your waterproof tips and techniques?
@RedRockingBird10 ай бұрын
I have a few videos where I waterproof the air dry clay but you always want to plant a plant in a pot inside the planter, so this is how I do it, in this video

What prevents the clay from cracking when it is drying.
@RedRockingBird8 ай бұрын
Normally giving it space to shrink slightly, which is what the tin foil does, drying as slow as possible

I’ve been trying to sculpt around a pot myself but can’t seem to keep my sculptures from cracking. Can I sculpt around glass or does it need to be plastic?
@ameliasloan24438 ай бұрын
Also want to mention I’m trying to make a small sculpture of a mandrake (a character from Harry Potter) and create the shape with a pot in the middle for my mom to put plant cuttings in. Sort of like a vase. I tried using glass as well as foil to hold the shape. Every time it cracks when drying even when I dry it out very slowly. Everything online said I can’t mold around hard objects like plastic or glass because the clay shrinks. If you have any tips at all please let me know💜
@RedRockingBird8 ай бұрын
As I show in the video I don’t sculpt directly onto the hard object, but use the tin foil to allow it to pull in slightly.
