+statewithinastate2 -- Replacements are in the works (two 747-8 aircraft), but won't go into service until 2024. So unless Hillary gets a second term, she won't get to ride in the new ones as POTUS.

These planes are ancient and replacements are now on order. You can tell how old it is by looking at the flight engineer's desk in the cockpit - newer Boeings don't even have that.

Ancient? Well, yes and no. Every now and then they have a new one made, but they are still 747s. That is because 747s are the most reliable passenger jet aircrafts in the world. 757s are more fuel efficient but 747s handle much better in turbulence. And 747s, due to so many crashes during the 1970s, have been studied and examined more than any other aircraft ever made.

It’s just a throw back from years ago when people could smoke on airplanes. And it’s something guests can have as a souvenir. At the White House, the paper guest towels in the bathrooms have the presidential seal on them.

Air Force One is an Iconic plane, but man she is old. They really should invest in getting a Newer 747. A lot of people question why they wouldn't get an A380, well that's because it's not American.

Old fashioned souvenir guide , given by iconic hotels, restaurants and gas stations.... Meanwhile, sub par and overpriced health care providers, income inequality, high rent plague this era. I think people have a better chance of financial success in the 1950s and 1960s, when the matches would serve as a fond reminder of quality American service, and friendly women, unlike now.
