Im restoring this vintage survival knife from 1967. This one was made by the Camillus company. The blade was in good shape, Handle was very rusted, Thanks for watching!

Good work, but a '67 Camillus sheath would not have the metal guard at the bottom or on the back. This sheath was made very close to the style of the original.

👍Good stuff. That’s a nice stacked handle. Ricky, that ol catfish left ya w/ a small remembrance! May wanna smooth it over w/ some epoxy! 😂 Nice video.

I always knew those as jumpmaster knives. The jumpmaster always wore one around his ankle in case he had to cut away a towed jumper.

I have heard them called that. Thanks for watching!

That knife was sure put together well. I’ll bet it was built in a Ford plant.

I bought one of those knives in a military surplus store about 20 years ago, it was made by Ontario.

mark novak , has a you tube channel he dose gun restoration, but metal is metal. and he shows how to do rusted parts. Yes it's apples to oranges but metal is metal and it is just a suggestion. Looks good so far.

Did they make a “civilian” version of this knife, maybe with a little bit finer finish and nicer hardware?
@wallaceknifeworkshomestead2 жыл бұрын
I think Ontario makes one,

@@wallaceknifeworkshomestead I always liked the blade but never the handle, guard or pommel. Seemed way to heavy in the handle but I think they were envisioning it as an emergency hammer. If I ever find a beat up one with a bad handle maybe I’ll send it down to you for a brass guard and crown stag 😂 have to keep my eyes open next time I’m at the flea market 👍
