We buy these boneless country style ribs very often. I use them to make carnitas, stews, crispy pork bites, and a ton of other dishes. Super useful for meal prepping as they are usually quite affordable, too! I also needed to use some bottled barbecue sauces that have been stashed in the pantry so I chose the two shown in the video. Sweet Baby Ray’s is always and winner and the Tabasco Habanero Jerk was a spicy surprise with awesome flavor. But you can use any flavors you prefer or even make your own homemade sauce to brush on the meat.
For my keto friends out there: Just swap in sugar-free seasoning and sauce to make this a keto recipe.
NOTE: Whenever I’m cooking extra fatty foods like ribs or bacon a lot of food renders out to the bottom of the basket. Continuing to cook multiple batches will cause the fat to burn and smoke. In between batches, I always pour out as much collected fat as possible and even add a couple tablespoons of water to keep the smoking at bay. This does the trick every time!
Instant Pot Vortex Plus 6-in-1 6-Quart Large Air Fryer: amzn.to/3JUrDam
Today’s Ingredients:
3 lbs boneless pork country style ribs
2 TB evoo
3-4 TB barbecue seasoning of your choice (McCormick’s Grillmates in the video)
½ - 1 cup barbecue sauce of your choice (Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey Chipotle in the video)
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl rub the pork thoroughly with oil and barbecue seasoning. Cover and allow to marinate at room temperature for 30-60 minutes. [You can also marinate in the refrigerator overnight, taking it out an hour before cooking.]
2. Preheat the air fryer to 375°.
3. Place the pork into the basket in a single layer leaving enough space around each piece to allow for easy air flow. Work in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding. Cook at 375° for 30 minutes, flipping once at the halfway point.
4. Brush barbecue sauce over the top of each piece. Increase heat to 400° and cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is caramelized to your liking. Flip repeat for the other side. Check after the first 3 minutes on each side to watch for burning. Move completed pieces to a serving dish and repeat steps 3 and 4 for other batches. [NOTE: In between batches, pour out excess fat and add 2 tablespoons water to prevent smoking.]
5. Serve and ENJOY!

I have been cooking country style ribs in the Instant Pot, and am very unhappy with the results. Mostly because the Pot reduces the ribs down to the individual fibers. Otherwise known as mush. Hard to find the right time to cook them with. My next attempt was going to do it in the air fryer and here you are!

I usually end up making carnitas with these in the IP since it shreds up so nicely. But this AF version keeps the meat together and eats almost like a steak! My most favorite thing to do with these is cut them into smaller pieces and dust them with flour, then air fry them into crispy pork bites! Hi, Karen! Yeah, I always let meat (except ground) sit out for about an hour to take the chill off. If meat is super cold and hits a hot pan or oven, the muscle fibers seize up and you end up with tough meat. Not necessary for ground meat because the fibers are already minced up. Hope you do try. Thanks so much for watching! 💖🐝

These look so yummy. I'm not really a ribs kind of girl though. I dont like tge bones. Are "country style" ribs boneless? I could try them if they are! 😊 Have a great week ya'll❤

These were 100% boneless and very useful for lots of dishes! But make sure to read the label because I've seen them bone-in, too - depends on the store. Same to you and your family, Heidi! 💖🐝

So many confuse boneless short ribs with country-style ribs. These “ribs” as their called aren't actually ribs at all. They're actually strips of the chuck primal or beef shoulder that are cut into boneless strips to look like ribs. Hope this helps! Stay healthy safe and blessed!❤🙏

They don’t look that tender to me. I think it need it more time to be more tender maybe in low temperature will make them more tender

Hi, Efrain! Definitely, you can cook them lower and longer if you like them more fall apart. I've also wrapped them in foil and cooked them for an hour at 325 so they kind of steam in the foil and then add sauce and cook (unwrapped) at 400 to get some char. Or you can add water to the basket for a similar effect, but you'll still have to flip as you go. But it's up to you how you like to eat them - I like them with a bit of chew still on them like these! Thanks so much for watching! 💖🐝

The experiences of animals are real and matter. Their suffering is identical in nature to your own. It harms us when we take pleasure in cruelty and violence.
