It's possible, but you will require a re-fillable oil sprayer, or a commercially available cooking spray. The crispyness is achieved via a light coating of oil on the flour coating/breading.

@@The271176 Hii No i have not. The convection over that i have is still working though its more than 10 years old. But i am still on the look. Since last one year cud not go out properly to a shop because of the pandemic. Only went out to buy grocery / medc. Thanks Aunty! Looking fwd to see if we can fry Sri Lankan sweets in air fryer too. I live in a basement apt in Canada, and deep frying isn't allowed due to safety concerns, smell, etc. So I try to substitute deep frying with baking in the oven. Doesn't always come out the same. And we use a lot of heat. Using the air fryer seems to be the best answer.
