I tried these and I have to tell you, it is just like a real donut. You want high protein? Have them with protein icecream do make a Greek yogurt frosting . I made these and had six lol I made them lower in cals by reducing the sugar to 20 grams and used 75 percent light butter and skimmed milk. I used a bit more flour though , 300 grams. They came out to about 110 cals each .

Next time, you should just preheat your oven or toaster oven ahead of time! When kneading your dough for those several minutes, turn the oven off. Then pop the dough in the warmed oven wrapped or covered, and it should rise in 30 minutes. It's way faster than waiting for 2 hours for the dough the rise! I've done this twice when making doughnuts and cinnamon rolls, and it's foolproof! Hope this helps! 💪🏼

Forget the low-cal aspect. This is just all around a dope recipe for the simple fact that it's so much easier to make these in an air-fryer than to try and deep fry at home. This is coming from somebody who has made homemade, actually fried donuts at home in the past. Total pain. That's why I leave it to the pros. My all time fave has to be this little stand in Pike Place Market in Seattle that sells mini donuts that you can see being made on little a conveyer belt frying contraption that is super cute.

My favorite donut of all time? I don’t know how to pick, it’s changed so much over the years. Growing up I loved old fashioned. Then I discovered Krispy Kreme glazed donuts in high school and fell in love (I came to the US when I was 13). Then I switched high schools and there was a DD in the library so the only one I would get was Boston Creme. Fast forward to college where I discovered Strawberry Frosting donuts with no sprinkles (sorry Zach) and now I would say that’s my go to even after graduating in May. Maybe I’ll find a new fav soon!

Also, you could make this even lower in calories if you don’t mind using Swerve erythritol or Stevia instead of sugar. In my experience using granulated Swerve, it tastes pretty much just like sugar as long as you don’t add more than you need.

@@galtais2282 i substituted the sugar for sweetener, could that be the reason that the yeast wasnt activated? or has that nothing to do with it
@galtais22823 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if the sweetener has anything to do with it but next time just make sure that the yeast gets really foamy before adding the other ingredients. I usually activate the yeast with just warm milk first and then I add everything else. You can feel the dough very soft and it rises really well.
@benjamintrnt73293 жыл бұрын
@@bgpln9732 it seems like the yeast wasn't 'alive'. Yeast can be a tricky thing to get right, too cold it doesn't develop, too hot, it doesn't develop.
