Def a bit disappointed with these material swaps ; really not keen for that in these cases on some on of my all-time favorite Js. I don't really like satin Jordans and in this case its a shame on the Shadow 1s. Since now with the Reimagined Black Toe 1s we aren't getting those for the 2025 85 cut and my next hope was the Shadows would be the 2025 85 cut / High instead but now surely these satins will kill that possibility. Easy pass for me and I am sure these will sit either way. Velvet Bred XIs not for me either , i need a new pair of Bred XIs and getting a velvet version surely adds years to getting an OG retro again , smh. Also , im noticing something seems to be going on with the ballistic mesh on XIs with JB. Aside from the Cherry XIs , seems JB opting to go with XIs that do not feature mesh of late. Believe those Navy XIs didn't have mesh , Neapolitans didn't have mesh , Gratitudes didn't either despite the DMPs which they were emulating having it. Columbias next year no mesh again (OG Columbia XIs & their retros never had mesh) and assuming these Velvet Breds no mesh again. Im guessing somethings up there , either material swapping the mesh out or opting for XIs' colorways that do not have it in the first place. Im assuming this is a sneaky cost saving exercise from Nike.

@@Jtevkicksandcards to each their own , though i'd highly advise against it. satin Jordans are nightmare to maintain , clean , with creasing etc ; satin can get caught / snagged on stuff as well and much easier to warp over time and wear. To each their own though , up to each individual in the end. I'd rather put that retail price towards the '18 pair which are still very much still wearable.

Yea sadly, not sure what the full plan is for 2025. Hopefully we still get the 85 cut. That would be dope. Seems like a lot of people are not fans of the velvet. I totally get it.

@@sneakerfiles yeah i would expect we will still get the 85 cut but seems like they are going through the somewhat less iconic OG AJ1 colorways first. Like the Black and Whites we just got , Metallic Reds in '24 etc. Chicagos just got L&Fs , Breds got patent and satin versions last few years , Royal reimagined just got , Black Toe Reimagined coming in '24 , satin Shadow 1s on the way. So seems any of the super iconic colorways not very likely for the 85 cut in the near future. Looks like the lesser iconic ones like the Metallics (still a few more of those) and that sort. Maybe / hopefully can get the OG UNC 1 Highs as the 2025 85 cut.

I love the Bred XI, but they do fit snug! I don’t think it is the patent leather, but the material under it that makes then fit so snug. I had to wear mine often to break them in.
