Air Jordan 4 OG white cement white/black 1989, first 2021 pickup!

Grail talk! It's been a minute since I found an OG pair of Air Jordan 4's. Here is the unboxing of my white cement 4 or as us OG's say the Air Jordan '89 white and black pair. Super happy to finally cross this colorway off the list!

So, so nice. The downward slope of the shoe and low profile toebox make really make the OGs look like a different sneaker

Probably not likely. Nike uses cheaper and more eco-friendly materials nowadays. They recycle a lot of their materials.

2016 pair honestly did a good job with the mesh! I always be touching mine in the box, preferably more than the 2012 version which seem to be molded together

I always store in box, did hit them with Angelus mink oil spray to keep the durabuck healthy. Midsoles are well, delicate lol

Form fitting just like a shoe is supposed to look and feel. In some weird way 30 years later when technology is at its peak Shoe companies just cant get it right. Or they simply dont want to , 😏

These originals were built to perform from materials to design. These days the retros are made more so for fashion and casual wear. I agree with you though and wish the higher cut, sleeker toe box was replicated. Nothing like the OG, just like MJ's!

Its really a shame. These ogs are a part of history. I've said it before too with repatining air jordan1 etc if you do that just go buy a retro. Seen so many 85s etc get ruined.

@@ogorbust1697 I agree to an extent. If the soles are crumbling I don’t see a problem with getting them sole swapped if it’s just to be preserved and not worn. That and it’s gotta be done right by someone that knows what they’re doing and knows how to handle a older shoe like this. I hate seeing someone have a og swapped and they swap it with a donor with a different color air unit or they don’t take the time to get the fitment exactly right. The only person I’d trust to swap a shoe like this would be someone like John Manolo. That man has swapped some insane grails like MJ’s game worn infrareds and game worn mj signed 3’s. If you haven’t see his work look him up on KZbin cause dude has done some amazing work.

No point in keeping on preserving a shoe. If you don’t wear the materials will disapate. With continued aging. The shoes will eventually be nothing. Best way to preserve is wear and maintain.
