Hi, thank you for sharing your journey with us. I have no idea about air ???? Stuff. But, I use to be a cosmetology back in the day. I know that plastic will make things sweat. But, the hair or tree branch will actually be dry. Just like humans sweating dehydrates. So my logic is if you need moisture plastic is not the answer. Especially on hot summers. I could be totally wrong, im just sharing my thought process. Have an awesome day

Hey bear brown 😊 have you ever heard of Dr. Jimz?? It’s a natural fertilizer. We use it a lot in California. I use the Chicken Soup for the soil. But they have a fertilizer for trees that would probably help! ❤

I will check it out. Thanks, SauceySav.

I went back and watched the first video to this. I noticed a couple of things. When you took the bark off and scrapped off the green layer, you didn't scrape up the white layer before putting on the rooting hormone. Also, your hotdog bun wasn't completely around the airlayer spot before securing it. I believe you needed more potting soil in the zip lock bag as well. 🙏🏿 Next time, you will get it done!

HEY Bringit!!! Thanks for the help. I will definitely scratch up the white part next time. I was wondering if I had enough soil. Hopefully, I will get it next season.

He actually did scrape the white layer; but you're right - I think he needed more soil.

Try again next spring. I believe that you will succeed! I succeeded 1 out of 2 times. You might have a missed a step!

Where’s your rooting harmony?&how did you cut the branches?
@GrowSomethingTasty2 ай бұрын
HEY Samuel, I used rooting hormones, I cut it with a knife.
@rawhoney2199Ай бұрын
Did you dip it in that root powder stuff?
@GrowSomethingTastyАй бұрын
I had to brush it on the branch. I did use it.
@jeffscopАй бұрын
The build of that stuff was 'scaring'. The roots would eventually come from those spots.

HEY Jeff, I hope I get roots one day.

Use peat moss and or coco coil for your soil, it holds moisture longer. Thanks for the video.

Why do you want to make pure rooted trees? Most trees don't fruit until they're like 8 years old or more and grow hella big. Grafted trees keep their size small and fruit in 2 to 3 years, perfect for the backyard gardener.
@GrowSomethingTasty2 ай бұрын
HEY, Spidergreg!!! I have to prune the tree for an open center, and since I was going to prune them, I might as well make a tree from them. I would let them grow to the size that I want. I have free trees and fruit.
@winsomegrange94872 ай бұрын
Try using more soil next time.

Sorry to hear your project didn't work out Bear, I've never tried to do what you were doing cuz I don't have fruit tree's and I don't know exactly what you were doing, so I can't really comment on anything. I just wanted to say hey! I admire your determination and I'm confident that you'll figure it out bro! I was gonna ask you something about my watermelon plant's, I still have about 6 watermelon's on the vine, 2 nice size "baby sweet's", 2 smaller one's and 2 new one's about the size of my fist. The bigger 2 look like their ready to harvest but the tendril's aren't brown yet, the 2 medium size one's are the same and I don't know what to think about the 2 small one's that just sprouted up about a week & a half ago! I live in Missouri and fall time is setting in and it can get a bit chilly at night! I don't think I have much time left in the season to see those smaller melon's grow to maturity. Should I go ahead and harvest the other 4 even though the tendril's haven't dried out yet and what do you think I should do about the smaller one's? My green pepper plant has also sprouted up about 10 new pepper's! There's a few almost average size one's and a bunch of little one's, should I just leave them be and keep letting them grow, or should I harvest them and get ready to start wrapping thing's up before it gets too cool outside and prepare for winter? Our first frost is usually around the beginning of November. Thanks man! Your friend Mike!
@GrowSomethingTasty2 ай бұрын
HEY, Mike!!! I would not pull the melons until the tendrils turn brown. I would wait. I know the nights are getting cool, but maybe in the day it will warm, and they can use that heat. It's kind of tricky this time, but definitely pull them before your frost date to see if they are ready. I would pull the peppers b4 the frost date. I have to do that, too. I am going to try overwintering a few pepper plants. I have not succeeded yet, but I will keep trying. You can try doing that if you want as a project. I think I will get the cloning down for those trees. I think I know what I did wrong. Sorry it took 3 days to respond back. I have a lot of messages right now, alright, my friend. Let me know how it goes.
