Air Rifle Hunting Hooded crow And Magpie Control On A Wet Drizzly Morning

I am out with my long since gone Theoben MFR air rifle trying to decoy hooded crows and magpies to help protect the sheep and lambs on a local farmers land.
This is all done on farm land that i have permission to do so on with legally held air rifles and is done in a legal and humane manner as not to prolong or glorify the death of the birds.
This can legally be done through the Department Of Agriculture, Environment And Rural Affairs Wildlife (Northern Ireland) Order 1985 (As Amended) Licence.
This Licence hereby authorises for the purpose of preventing the spread of disease and preventing serious damage to livestock, foodstuffs for livestock, crops, vegetables, fruit, growing timber and fisheries ANY AUTHORISED PERSON to kill or take any of the following birds:-
Crow, Jackdaw, Magpie, Pigeon (Wood), Pigeon (Feral), Rook
Here in Northern Ireland rabbits are on our general licence as they are considered an agricultural pest and can be controlled all year round, this was done here with the use of a legally held air rifle on land that i have permission to do so on in a legal and humane manner as not to prolong or glorify the death of the animal.

I used to have a flip up scope cover on the rear lens of the scope as i found that in cold wet weather the rear lens would fog up with my breath and the lens cover helped stop that.

Hiya bud that's another good video of your shooting and how you do things I really enjoy your videos old and new and both channels and I made some shooting sticks following one of your videos and I gotta say they work a treat I even made some for a friend, anyway it was good to see the black and white bandits getting thwacked, do you still use the Bisley Magnums? Iv never had any luck with the Bisley range of pellets and I've tried them in multiple rifles but just found that they didn't group well for me, anyway thanks for putting in the time to make the video and as always happy hunting pal

All i ever shot in my Theoben MFR was the bisley magnums i did try other pellets but theoben set their FAC rifles up for the magnums so thats really the only pellet that it shot accurately.

I like the configuration of the air bottle and stock lines and the deep grain wood of the stock. May I ask, please, what is it you like about your BSA Super Ten?

Well firstly the rifle i used in this video is my old Theoben MFR and not the Superten but i do like the trigger on the superten and it always was a very accurate rifle even before John Bowkett blueprinted it and shortened the barrel which makes it very handy for shooting from a hide.

At times yes as it was a simpler gun than the crown but it worked well.

Yes it does as you don't really feel like you have changed much in that length of time until you see yourself on the monitor.

I wanted an up grade with more power and options which i got with the crown but i do miss the simplicity of the Theoben at times. The crown is just as accurate if not more than the Theoben and with a lot more pellets or slugs but i think that i have that much power now i'm punching holes right through the birds but with less knock down power which end up flying a short distance before dropping but its murder on the rabbits though.

Hi, is the best time to be successful early in the morning or in the evening? Which is better: eggs or rabbit skin?

I find setting up in the morning just before light is the best as the birds don't see you set up, i usually use a dead rabbit for bait but in the spring a fake nest and some eggs can work very well or even a loaf of bread.
