Hey, buddy. It's hard for me to make that comparison because I've never held an Impact in my hands. I know some people owning Impacts, but only through the internet... The R5M definitely has a place in that shooting van of yours 😉 Will it give you something more than the Impact - I can't say for sure; perhaps more dependability. I know this doesn't help a lot, sorry, it's just that I'm not the kind of guy who will start feeding people a load of cr*p because of not having the adequate knowledge and experience 🙂

just looked up the Edgun Matador R5M .25 : up to 49 ft lbs (67 Joules) that's a nice pcp air rifle. and yay--- pigeon shooting :) always nice to see!

Thanks, Effim, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂 You can always tune the gun up - mine is set to 78-79 Joules with the JSB 34 grainers. And that's the Standard with a reg at 135 bar. If you get the Long, you can get it to shoot even hotter, some guys shoot slugs with it.

i'm new but do plan to get some air rifle like Gamo Forest to do target shooting and a small pest control (since all other measure is not possible, and yes pigeons) just wanted to know which safety measure should consider like i case of a miss shot of a pigeon on top of the roof etc.

Hi, mate. No safety measure is good enough in that case. If you miss your target on a roof and the pellet goes over the roof, you must be certain that there is nothing on the other side that can be damaged, or no human being or animal which can be injured. Good luck and good hunting 👍

Thanks for the comment, friend 🤝 No more than 3 or 4 holes so far for the past couple of years. And that's only in the old buildings, where they keep animal fodder. The silos are made of very strong steel, you can't put a hole in them with an air gun.

Hi, Thomas, and thanks for your comment 🙂 No, I have the stock regulator, I think it performs great and I don't intend to replace it for the time being. No, I haven't tried slugs... And I have some news which are embarrassing for the distributor - he made a "mistake" and installed a regular LW barrel. I noticed it as soon as I cleaned the barrel for the first time. I don't know how you mistake a regular rifled barrel for a polygonal one, but that's what he said and offered a compensation.

I wasn’t sure. Do you feel that 25-cal is some what too much power for shooting pigeon in & arond barns? Why I ask is the pigeon kill with a hole in thre the roof.

@@cajunnathan4586, yes, close to medium range the .25 is a bit of an overkill on ferals. But I prefer it because it bucks wind better and because it ensures a clean kill at longer distances and in bad weather conditions. Also, some owners ask of us to cope with bigger pest species. Rare occasions, I might add.

Хорошо промаринованные тушки, да в духовке, да с гороховой кашей или тушёной капустой .

A very simple explanation why: the farmer was next to me watching me stalking pigeons once. I was looking at one of these birds and NOT shooting it. He asked me why I wasn't shooting it. I said it's not a pest species. Then he told me that they enter the animal feed storage in the tin sheds and they rummage through the dirt where the rats go. Hence the risk of them spreading disease. A couple of weeks later I saw one of these birds fly in a shed two minutes after several rats went out of it. I started targeting them afterwards. There were not many of those, I must have shot no more than 3 and then the rest stopped visiting that location. I haven't seen one in months. Thanks for the comment and for watching. Happy holidays!

Pidgeons must be some tough creatures because they never seem to be DOI and my .25 hits raccoons and big squirrels in the head and they just do the “pop lock and drop” as I call it feet pop off the ground and they lock up and fall flat dead

For the last couple days I’ve been hearing an animal under the house...no idea what it is yet but I’m going to try to bait it just far enough into the backyard to see what it is and hopefully get a kill shot so it doesent go back under the house.idk if my hatsan .25 will be easy to use at 5 yds or less so I ordered a crosman vigilante on amazon last night

It could be a possum or a raccoon, Chris (you're in the USA, right?). Or maybe a rodent of some sort. The Hatsan would do the job at 5 yards, you just need to know where to aim - use a ballistic calculator for instance. Although at that distance your scope won't be able to focus, and I don't know if your gun has iron sights. I hope the CO2 revolver does the job 👍
