In the whole Siri Guru Granth Sahid, Guru Nanak and other gurus do say repeatedly that our aim of life is devotion to the Lord and end the cycle of reincarnation, very very clearly. To end up the cycle of reincarnation and do not rebirth is the greatest blessing and treasure told by Guru Nanak in his many songs he composed by himself. Even Saint Kabir says many times in SGGS that "remain dead while alive so that you will never die again."The six schools of philosophy in Hinduism do tell us the same ultimate aim of life is to end the cycle of birth and death. They are the astika, believers (in the Truth told in Vedic scriptures. The highest Truth is told by astika (believers), not nastika (non-believers). Nastika was defeated in the discourse of Truth, and it is why Buddhism disappeared totally in India because Buddhism tells people falsehood as Truth. But astika has become minority in the world and even in India now. The meaning of human life is very very little, for suffering and learning only. If you can learn instead of only suffering, then the highest of your life is to end birth and death, to end this meaningless existence, but for very few people only.
