One common issue with AirBNB... laundry. Often washing and drying the sheets and towels is expected. This can take two hours... much longer than the cleaning time.

FWIW: I have run several Airbnb's. My cleaners have been with me for 6 years. They prefer Airbnb turn-overs. There are extra tasks. But as they told me, 'no es muy duro.' It's not very difficult. Their reasoning is that peoples' houses have a lot of clutter. Airbnb's generally are minimalist and designed with ease of cleaning in mind.

That’s a great point about there being less clutter to deal with in an Airbnb. Thank you for sharing : )

These are very true. I run an Air BnB and do my own cleaning, and because it has to be so thorough and detailed with restocking involved and lots of attention to detail, I've been worried I won't be able to find someone able to take over that aspect should I need.
@alexchopper79972 жыл бұрын
So true. I clean once in a blue moon when my cleaners are not available in emergency situations only. I do go there to check on their work sometimes and they’re ok but it’ll never be up to your standards as the host.basically your cleaners will never be as thorough as you because after all it’s your business, not theirs.

I really enjoy the staging/cleaning/turnover of Airbnb. To me the main difference in types of Airbnb cleaning is if the Airbnb property is dedicated to Airbnb and no one else stays there. (these are easy to clean and stage and turnover despite the details and effort) The other type of Airbnb is where people live there and leave when a guest comes. I end up hating these as they usually don't have a regular cleaner and expect the Airbnb stager/cleaner to clean a months worth of debris from their house so the guests have a clean house and they expect you to clean up after the Airbnb for them so they get to come home to a clean house. Now I'm new to this and maybe I'm being taken advantage of but I don't know how to handle the request for me to clean up such a mess when I think they should hire me or someone else to do regular cleaning for them so the place isn't so filthy everytime they book a guest and ask me to come clean for it.

Thank you Angela! Is airbnb cleaning doable for solo cleaner? What have you noticed many airbnb cleaning services fall short on?
@RominaJones5 жыл бұрын
I do my own Air BnB solo but I have another large cleaning contract that takes me three nights a week too. The main thing is the other job arrival time is relatively flexible (in the evenings) because Air BnB is not, you have that window to clean and you have to do it then so other jobs have to wait. If the other job were not so flexible as far as arrival time, I'd find it difficult without a back-up person.

I’m disgusted with my Air B&B. I walked in on the maid today. She apparently cleans the toilets with no cloves and white towels which she then washes in the communal washer/dryer on cold/colors vs.sanitize cycle. Also, she turned off the pool sweeper which creates an unhealthy pool environment, so can’t use the pool, which is contraty to what the host told me. There is still old food in the refrigerator and she even asked me to put the towels into the dryer when they were done. Also, big problem with other guests not cleaning up after themselves. No paper towles and very little TP alloted. Severely disgusted. Refrigerator reeks of garlic. Moral of the story, bring your own towels, do not trust that the sheets are clean, and bring your own cleaner and wipes.

Wow! I'm sorry to hear about your experience. That sounds really frustrating. I'd recommend reaching out to the Airbnb host directly to express your concerns and request a resolution. You might also want to consider leaving an honest review to help future guests. I hope your stay improves and that you can enjoy the rest of your time there.

Can you tell us how to do estimates for cleaning airvnb
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
When estimating the cost for cleaning an Airbnb property, assess the size and layout of the property and make a list of cleaning tasks required. Determine the time needed for each task and calculate labor costs based on your hourly rate. Account for cleaning supplies, additional services, and adjust for local market rates. Provide a comprehensive estimate with detailed tasks and associated costs. Stay flexible and periodically review your pricing. Hope this helps.

Would it be good to charge 250 per clean, for a Airbnb that has 2 story 2 bedrooms 2.5 baths
@AskAngelaBrown2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the work being done. Are you cleaning the entire home or just the 2 BR and 2.5 Ba? Are you doing laundry and restocking? And how many beds? The rates will be based on the price of of the stay and the size of the job. (If you are cleaning after one night, and the cost of the night to the guest is $89 and you only have one guest) you won't be able to charge $250. does that make sense?

Forgive me, I’m looking for advice. We just finished renting with Airbnb Aug. 5-8. The large home and quantity of beds was appealing. The beds were clean as were the two bathrooms and kitchen. I guess you could say, it was surface cleaned very well. As our days went on, i found Filthy air registers, chewed weather stripping on door, left over salt from winter and a snow shovel. An old refrigerator in the back along with trashy chairs, firepits. The ovens were filthy and the grill as well. My husband thinks I’m being way too critical, but I think it’s wrong to charge 500 a night for 200 . 00 job. The Blinds were chewed on by a dog i suppose. The host wanted to refund 250. if i gave her 5 stars. I can’t. Any advice. Am I out of line? Thank you. Ruth
@AskAngelaBrown3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ruth Ann, you mention that it was surface cleaned very well which may have been the promise. I am not sure, because I didn't see the listing. If it was promised to be a 5 star experience with 100% of all items in pristine condition and turned out to be less than that I can see your surprise. I've stayed at many five star resorts that have things similar to what you just explained, because properties have normal wear and tear, (such as chewed weather stripping on a door.) Outdoor chairs by a firepit may take a beating from being out in the weather even if they are hosed down each day. The advice I have is not so much about what to do as far as a rating or refund goes but to ask yourself if you enjoyed your vacation. Were you able to get away and enjoy yourself? If the items you mentioned ruined your vacation and you only obsessed about the money you spent vs. the few things that were not satisfactory, my advice would lead one down that road to figure out the root of that so you don't have a repeat experience on your next vacation.

No maam. Wow. This is why hosts want to pay $25 for an Airbnb cleaning and can't understand why they aren't getting a deep clean each visit. Decorating is reserved for a house manager. You have multiple jobs here over lapping.

Thank you for your feedback and thanks for watching.
@CariBarbour3 жыл бұрын
In some cases, the house manager expects the cleaner to stage. They may be away and unavailable and if you offer this service may gladly accept. It is like finishing off the job instead of leaving it in disarray. Of course the owner can change it as they wish but the unit is ready.
