DYNAMITE presentation! I live in Boulder; and there are a few people looking to hire part time cleaners for their Airbnb locations. I feel you went above and beyond; not only in telling us WHAT to clean and tidy; but WHY it is important. As a self educated learner - this is super valuable to me and others like me, I suspect. So true! We stayed set a Yurt Glamping tent with air conditioner and fans but there were lots of spider webs with some spiders. The restroom was decent, a bit small but again spiders and webs. We didn't check locally and when through a big Rental Company and we played $25 dollars power day more. If you can check the local places for cheaper rates! Thanks for these great tips.

If that was not part of your contract, I suggest you bill them for the items purchased. This way you get reimbursed and don't loose any money in the long run.

I'm cleaning a 2110sft Airbnb with 1 and 2 half baths. Theater, SunRoom, 6 Beds, Dishwasher, Patio, 4 Bedrooms. It's 4 floor's. They want it done in 3 hours. They pay 150.00. That's a short time and seems a little low. What do you all think?

+Roxanne if you’re just doing the turnover service that sounds about right. The more frequently you clean it, the less time it will take to clean. Each time you clean it you’ll be doing the laundry, restocking, damage, control, and Flipturn.

In 3 hours?! I agree that 150 appears to be the average for larger properties but in that time frame, and having to possibly take linens home to finish, I’d say it’s low.

First of all, with guests comimg & going there's no 'every day'...these hosts/real estate agents/airbnb 'managers' are in it to make money it's an investment. Lawns? Once a month. No pruning, no weed pulling. The house is main focus. 4-5 hours to do 3 baths, 4 beds, laundry, kitchen & floors, vacuum, wipe fridge/freezer, microwave. These places aren't set up to make cleaning efficient. I havent worked at one yet that has a shower with a sprayer to rinse walls around tub. I'm trying to find out how to do a 4 bed 3 bath place with outdoor furniture & a dog run in 5 hours or less...other airbnb cleaners seem to manage but i barely make deadline....i like to leave things how id want to see them if i arrived there as a guest. Some hosts have very detailed mandatory lists...the app wont pay you if you dont check off evrrything on the list...often some supplies aren't there. I take my own linen rags & cleaners. I've had to drive home to get garbage bags bc none were available at the site. My priorities are start laundry, get trash out, see what to expect in the kitchen, clean bathrooms. Sheets are never cotton but a slick material that attracts hair like crazy. Two places ive worked even tell you: pick hairs off linens lol. Two places i work at use cloth shower liners & expect you to wash them too...the tedious hooks when you're trying to get done idk what ppl are thinking. I want to know how to improve my time...what to prioritize...but i think in the case of the 4 bed, 3 bath place the host has unrealistic expectations: shaggy floor throws used to hide stains have to have lint & stuff removed maually & are under 2 of the legs of a bed...how do you deal with that? Now there's nowhere to rent, in my town. Two area motels remodeled as apartment rentals- right off the highway, no pets, no yards. It's a conundrum, the entire enterprise.
