Can you answer me why air B&B is now getting more expensive To rent a room In somebody's private house, then it is to rent a motel room in most cities.

What annoys me is how hosts make all these rules and pretty much want you to clean the place, yet they charge a big cleaning fee, wtf??? If you're going to charge me $150 cleaning fee, you should clean the place, not me!!!
@AirbnbAutomated
@AirbnbAutomated 8 ай бұрын
think of the square feet of the home first. That’s why cleaning is expensive. Hotels don’t provide dishes. as a good human, if you use dishes, clean them. But, there are things that seem like overkill.
@jr303official
@jr303official 8 ай бұрын
@AirbnbAutomated i have stayed in many hotels with a kitchen. They never make you throw away all the trash, remove the sheets and towels, and wash dishes. I'm talking about a 2 bed room apartment, and I think $150-200 should cover the cleaning and should be done by the host. I understand about not trashing the place and leaving garbage all over. For the nightly price plus a cleaning fee, the host should clean, not guest.
@jr303official
@jr303official 8 ай бұрын
@AirbnbAutomated I feel dishes should be rinsed, but the cleaners should wash them in a dishwasher. I say that only so as a host, knows the dishes are actually clean and disinfected. I have seen dirty dishes in airbnbs, and it's like "what's the point also of a cleaning fee" if the place isn't clean in the first place.
@AirbnbAutomated
@AirbnbAutomated 8 ай бұрын
@jr303official I think you should do your best to wash them, cleaners absolutely still have to go over them again if they’re not done well, but burnt macaroni in pans and dried sauce over things is admonishable. The reason why we don’t have harmony is there are both bad guests and bad hosts
@AirbnbAutomated
@AirbnbAutomated 8 ай бұрын
@jr303official a hotel doesn’t allow 12 people in the same hotel room, so there’s not that much trash, they also come in every day and remove what’s there usually

Sean I recently went through this scenario of turning on instant book (I have a home in very quiet neighborhood). Got a booking and the guest wouldn’t respond to my messages or acknowledge my house rules. Called Airbnb and they said only under certain circumstances could I cancel penalty free. Just feeling “uncomfortable” is not a valid reason in airbnbs eyes to cancel reservation. Long story short had to call the guest to have them cancel and turns out they were locals and were planning on inviting friends over 😅. Got them to cancel and turned off instant book immediately

Many guests don't respond to messages, unnerving but not necessarily a red flag in my experience. Similarly, instant book is fine for the most part but can be sketch. I don't discount other than the weekly traveller wave function so to speak.

We give a 4star rating, to our last airbnb and a good review along with a suggestion. The host who previously left a nice comment about us , in his review section he abused us. And even in whatsapp he was abusing us for not giving a 5 star rating. We couldn't afford to sue him, bcz we are students. There should be strict actions against the host who abuse you over whatsapp or any other platform for not getting 5 star.

why do you care what the host says about you outside of your air bnb guest rating? am i not understand something? he gave you a good air bnb rating (which makes it easier for you to continue renting). the host running his mouth on social media does not affect your air bnb rating and no one cares what someone says about you otherwise.

Who could have ever guessed that allowing strangers to rent out your home could be a problem? Apparently these genius’ have no clue what the saying “Treat it like a rental” means. There’s a reason that saying exists. Shitty people like to do shitty things. No one deserves their home to be trashed but when you fail to protect your home from strangers who use it as a motel you kind of are putting yourself in that position. My family owned a motel for decades and any motel owner could have told people you are crazy to do this. It’s common sense.

some people are naturally grey at a young age. I started getting beautiful sparkly shining silver hairs at age 16 and now at age 31, almost half my hair is grey. for me, it just adds more dimension 😊 he seems healthy otherwise, but who knows? we can't judge. some healthy looking people have invisible illnesses or disabilities and some "unhealthy looking" people are actually 100% fine ✌😊

A lot of good guests do not realise this either. I have a guest that fit this exact profile today, 1 night stay no reviews not identity verified and local. The only reason I did not decline the request is because AirBnB support were so helpful verifying information the guest had given me (the guest had stated s/he had used AirBnB before, even though s/he had no reviews. S/he stepped up and identity verified to book with me. Turns out s/he had and even left the host a 5 star review, the host just couldn't be bothered reviewing that guest. After accepting the stay request, s/he is middle aged, a local in a very responsible job just looking for a weekend getaway with her partner, they do not want to drive home after a night out at the restaurants and local bars. I asked some tough questions e.g. if you are local why are you coming, do you understand the AirBnB no parties policy etc and a/he very politely communicated in a way that indicates s/he will be a suitable guest. I tell all my neighbors what I do, they all have my direct dial if issues arise with my guests. I meet these type of guests in person every time for key exchange. I came so close to missing out on a one night stay paying near double rates, because I did not have immediate clear visibility on the potential guest pre-booking. A huge thank you to AirBnB support for answering my questions without breaching the guests personal identifying information pre-acceptance!

Damn no party policy? I mean i get u not wanting a huge party on ur property full of intoxicated young people but whats stopping them from having 10-20 people over? Can u rlly prevent that from happening? Whats the difference if u were in a hotel and had people in there. Obvs once it gets to a certain time u gotta be quiet but damn. Air bnb prob mostly booked by young people who want a party or place to crash after with their friends after partying. Curious how they could rlly enforce that.. if no damage is done.

@@Kaetoh it goes beyond that, our building has a rule at the management level which says residents will not undertake activities which disturb the peaceful enjoyment of other building occupants, and no excessive noise between the hours of 10pm and 6am shall be generated that can be heard from inside a neighboring property. If these rules are breached, the building manager can ask everyone to leave, including the owner.

@@asiatravel2010 ahh i see, yea that totally makes sense then. Do you add this in your listing? Or do u leave it out so people dont skip it? In that case idk. But aslong as its being told to the customer then yea if they go ahead and do itanyways theyre dickheads. But i guess if it was a detached house they couldnt really enforce that then hey?
