This is what I was missing, I tore up my Iwata neo pretty bad with using lacquer thinner to clean, but wasn't flushing out after with normal non-solvent cleaner. Glad I did it on a cheapo first!

Cheers! Hope it helped . Ya, just do a ‘normal’ airbrush cleaner as a final step before you put the brush away. Lots of videos on KZbin making your own ab cleaner

As a new thing, I am dumping my Mr Thinner discard into a glass jar and am re-using that thinner for cleaning after the solids precipitate out to the bottom.

That’s a really good idea I will start doing this as that thinner can get expensive lol

Hi, are u just using ordinary airbrush cleaner at the end?
@2kidsnosleep3 жыл бұрын
Hi Apologies for late response. Yes that is just a regular air brush cleaner used for acrylics. UMP cleaner brand in this case from umpretail.com. As I mentioned I don’t want residual lacquer thinner cleaner inside the airbrush left for storage, so use that UMP cleaner as the final step. At next airbrush session, I would prime the brush with whatever solvent type for the paint I am using...ie a lacquer one if it is a lacquer based paint or the ump stuff if it is an acrylic paint. That is like how an artist primes their paintbrush bristles before picking up paint from a pallet
