I've been watching airbrush videos non-stop for the last week and change in preparation for my kit to arrive. This is the best idea I have seen yet. I've been dreading going through roll after roll of paper towels and newsprint to practice and learn on. The picture frame idea is fantastic! The Windex in a sponge is great too. Thanks for posting this!

Just read 'Crafts-a-lot and your reply. Agree and empathy with both: A really powerful help. I will make a 'blackboard' of glass. Paints of older days were not so willing to adhere to glass and would pearl. I might get further than saving some 'precious work' by getting used to using the knife to wipe away my -masterpiece-' Just my sense of joviality. I used to do this on bikes but it's a long time ago and hardly talented - now I think to do a little more. Your practice sheet is just the ticket - Thanks for daring to give your input and, your did a great job with the brush (I just saw a guy ca 10min of doing an eye with a frenchcurve - he meant well, but the eye wouldn't convince and the route to the result, ja it's one way to go as you say. Glad for your time. Thanks

Thanks for this video. Just got my 1st airbrush for modeling. Never thought about testing on glass. Great idea. Gonna go to the thrift store and find some old frames with pictues to learn more about shading. Just paint right over the pictures. Doesn't matter what they are. Just a learning tool.

Thanks so much for your video. The only way I am going to get good at airbrushing is to practice. Your idea of using glass is perfect because I don't have to go out and buy canvas all the time. Also, I can change the paper inside to all manor of designs.

Great video man. I think you had such a great idea with the glass... That's great practice to experiment for non-absorbing surfaces to get confident with air pressure and reduction. I might also try the sponge thing... I do it with a piece of soaked paper towel and works fine, but that way looks even more secure. See u around.

Dude, that is an awesome idea. The glass mimics any hard surface perfectly, well I guess not a primered surface. But definitely a high gloss surface like on cars,or helmets.Going to Wal Mart today, and get a nice sized picture frame. This is one of the best tips I have gotten yet.Thank yo,I've been using 4 ft. by 5ft.corrogated cardboard sheets (basically because I get them free at work),but the paint soaks in,or has fuzzy overspray, can't do layers or color blends very well. And you can't do fine detail practice strokes. It gives me trigger time but it's just not a good practice material. After watching your video,I know this glass technique is really going to help me to practice the strokes and effects I have had trouble with.Plus it will make me use more trigger control too.Great idea,I wish I came across this video months ago.Once again, thank you.
