I use a q-tip dabbed in acetone for tip dry . I also add in the distilled water a few drops of glycine.

Yeah, acetone is great for general cleaning too, just mind your O-rings.

I would recommend retarder over flow improver for this problem. Flow improver will help, but it can also lead to undesirable results as you paint will tend to settle unevenly into recesses.

Fantastic as always! Needle juice is a big help. I didn’t know that lowering the PSI can help it not dry as fast. Gonna try that!

I’m new to airbrushing and I bought a cheap one with the small compressor attached. The needle clogs every five seconds. I did everything right based on tips, but it still sucks. So, I just bought a better quality piece with separate compressor. I think your tips will work with a decent model. Your videos are awesome.

A lot of flow improvers use speed drying chemicals in them which can also cause tip dry. Vallejo flow improver has been a big no go for me for this exact reason. I've also swapped mostly to premium grade acrylic gouaches as of late since they tend to dry much slower than normal acrylics and can be thinned easier. I use golden and turner the most, they can cost a fair bit but Turner goes on sale at Jerry's artarama for $16-25 for a 250ml pouch a lot.
