Subscribed today - great to see an Aussie doing this stuff. Your tutorial results are just what I have been looking for. Something tells me even your simplified methods are going to take some serious practice to get anywhere near this good. Appreciate the videos. Hoping to be starting my journey in the coming months.

I use an airbrush to color my leather projects, but wanted to learn more about fine detail work. Your videos are phenomenal. Thanks for your hard work! That cover or hobby knife, where can I get one? I have nerve damage in my hands.That knife looks like a winner.

Will trident paint stick to a latex mask? Or would I have to add a promoter?
@AirbrushAsylum3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend using a adhesion promoter first, in the past I have used the Createx adhesion promoter by Tim Gore 👍🏻

@airbrushasylum I'm a miniature painter and found that airbrushing decreased my highlight and shadow time by at least half, but I'm just in the beginning of knowing it's potential. Although it's not your typical medium, would you make a video of painting a miniature of any sort?
@michaelrobinson96433 жыл бұрын
Im planning to use this on a PC case I'm painting. Is there a best choice for the underlying colour? My idea is to have the barbed wire over riveted metal panels (either rusty metal or a bronze/copper).
@AirbrushAsylum3 жыл бұрын
Yes that would work , if you make the base Rusty then this will come through on your barbed wire which would look great I would also add a few final details to make it pop from the base colour 👌🏻

How SMALL would it be possible to recreate this with? I want to try one on a 1/25 scale model car
@Vormulac13 жыл бұрын
This is amazingly effective! As a matter of interest, is there any reason that you use a scalpel and not a swivel knife when you're cutting those very intricate details?
@AirbrushAsylum3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment, I have tried swivel knives in the past and I personally find it easier to just use the regular blade as I have used it for so many years, but a swivel knife is a great suggestion for anyone who is struggling to control the standard hobby knife 👍🏻

It is very nice work, but you don’t exactly have the barb wire the way it really is. For the barbs you have the points both coming from behind the coils, only one barb should come from behind. Also, there isn’t any twists in the wire. Barb wire is always twisted.
@aarondcmedia9585 Жыл бұрын
Yeah the barbed wire isn't metal either, it's what, paint, or something? That will never keep the prisoners in, not in a million years.

Man I can't even do a shaded ball let alone barbed wire let alone realistic flames. I'll stick to painting model cars. Solid colors are easy.
