Glen Scott Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

@Xassels4 жыл бұрын
@@safe-keeper1042 The obvious application is to approach suspicious vessels closely, quickly, and look at what they're doing (basically what was done here). And it could also develop into a tool for boarding other vessels. It seems unlikely, to me, it could ever have the range for SAR. Not without the energy density of fuels increasing by an order of magnitude, or two.

@demonic60424 жыл бұрын
Im not quite sure but by the looks of it (if you’d kindly look at where the beret touches his bare head) the beret is sitting quite tightly so I’d assume that perhaps rubber is used, as in, a rubber placed at the bottom of the beret sitting snugly between a long piece of cloth all the way round the diameter, stitched on the inside of the beret and outside (I don’t think so). Though, more reasonably perhaps and with more legitimate evidence (of course from my own beret since I was in a uniformed group) is that the lace/ribbon (which exists where I previously said the rubber lace might have) is tied very tightly (it is not impossible, just simply uncomfortable, especially if there is a crest and the cardboard upon which the crest sits on is pressing onto ur forehead). The beret itself also has some weight, and also by some physics, as mentioned in another comment, a well seasoned beret can actually sit quite nicely on ur head. Afterall, dropping your beret is like losing ur rifle. You learn how to balance it after a while. I would suppose.

Maybe these will be more of short range recon stuff, or if possible search and rescue(potential to land at random locations and listen and wait for the missing person, which helicopters cant do). How high can the jetsuit go if you don't have to worry about landing? Can a parachute be used to test this?
@freeze12804 жыл бұрын
I read in an article about Gravity that it could technically go up to 3km. But that would only work if the turbines would be at max power, which they never do, and you don't worry about landing.
@Tepid244 жыл бұрын
The problem with parachutes is that they are only useful above a certain height. That height is far more than enough to kill you. This means that there is a fairly considerable window of height where you would very likely be severely injured or die should you for some reason fall, before you actually reach the height at which your parachute would work.

@thiagosoares65263 жыл бұрын
@Revotry Nope! In fact, it can be operated in manual or fully automatic mode, where the system does all the work. It needs to be this way because in a real conflict situation one of the main objectives of the Phalanx is to act as a point defense system by destroying and repelling enemy missiles that could destroy the ship. In the modern world where missiles travel at supersonic speeds, a human for many factors may not have the reaction time fast enough to prevent the attack, so the calculation and firing order is up to the defense system itself. But of course, speaking of a conflict situation. In a normal situation like this, any aircraft or object that approaches an aircraft carrier is certainly checked and warned.
