I’m in the AFR for a reason. Over 30, unmarried, no dependents, have a great city government job with great bennies, and pursuing a plan to work for the airlines. Just graduated BMT a couple weeks ago currently in tech school.

I’m looking to join reserves how are the benefits ?
@strumminandwrenchin9162Ай бұрын
@@KeonnahMonique they are only complete when you are on active duty orders such as BMT and technical training and any deployment order over 30 days you take up. But as a reservist, I cannot say as I am currently active duty for training. However educational, VA Loans etc are contingent upon accumulated time served. Best to consult a AFR recruiter for further details.

So in the middle of your contract being a reserve you can’t move to another state?
@AngelicaCortez-vv6qe2 ай бұрын
cause i know you have to do 90 days active to get it
@cristalg38502 ай бұрын
Question is does the reserve have the VA benefit if it doesn’t how can quality for it cuz I really want all the benefits that active duty have but I still want to go reserves for college.
@AngelicaCortez-vv6qe2 ай бұрын
question, when you went to jersery for those 3 months. would that time be valid for you to be eligible for the VA loan?
@Kiaraaleema2 ай бұрын
Ehh I believe so since it made me eligible for tuition assistance but I’m not quite sure I would reach out to a recruiter about that!

How is it with the travel reimbursement? I am going to be based 3 hours away from where I live and my car isn't very reliable. I just wanna know if rental cars are gonna get reimbursed.
@KiaraaleemaАй бұрын
They do reimburse you especially if you are that far away but they base it off of however many miles.They did not pay for my rental car when I came on base for one weekend. Hope this helps!
@rebeccatillman9843Ай бұрын
So does the Reserve pay for your transportation to your base once per month?
@selinamiserАй бұрын
yes
@KiaraaleemaАй бұрын

Any advice for someone who already has a full time GOV job, and college degree wanting to join the reserves?
@GradietPanda12345Ай бұрын
Talk to a recruiter. Always start there for one
@KiaraaleemaАй бұрын
You can definitely still join it’s up to you. If you are willing to make that commitment of going on base every month. Go ahead because your job legally will have to let you take off work for your drill weekends. Any specific questions I would definitely talk to a recruiter or you can email me :)) hope this helps!!

As a reservist who just graduated from USAF BMT, your job, even if its a little Joe Schmo taco shop, they cannot in any way shape or form, fire you for your military service, even if its going to MEPS. Since you have a full time “government” job like I had before shipping out to BMT, they can in some cases, give you military leave pay depending on the fiscal year of that government’s calendar (mine was July 1 to June 30) and i was at BMT during that time so I got that bread lol and since its a public sector job, they CANNOT fire you. You are protected by a 1994 federal law titled: uniformed services employment/reemployment rights act aka USERRA. if your “government” employer knows you are leaving for military service, they will work with you to ensure you are reinstated after your active duty orders.

Honestly for the educational and medical benefits it’s worth it. But what are the room accommodations like ? Post COVID are we still sharing rooms during training lol ? That’s really what I want to know.

Nice video... Question: as itwas not clear, but as a Reserve are you able to stay in the state that you already live in? What's the standard please?
@zay_bay16 күн бұрын
Thank you for this video! I was trying to do active duty, ready to go now but can’t because I don’t graduate until May of 2025, so I definitely am glad I have another option!

Can my student loan be paid or reduced, after service? Cos I know of a certain amount of money a reserve is entitled to after service.
