It's one thing if he went out somewhere and bought it, but if they gave him that controller in exchange for airtime, that's an advertizement for their product. And the FTC rules are very clear on the subject that it cannot and must not look like just another one of his videos. There should be tags, posts in titles, or "anything that cannot be avoided and/or hidden." Microsoft hired a pair of influencers (like five to ten years ago) to review one of their games, and the influences failed to disclosed that the "Let's Play" video was a paid sponsorship by Microsoft. The FTC came down hard on both the influencers and Microsoft, fining all three. The rules are there to protect you and I from being manipulated through people we look up to and respect. I like AFP95. I enjoy watching his videos. That's why I mentioned it. I don't want to see him get into trouble. Better he fixes his video before the FTC catches him. All it takes is one person with a grudge, and this could sideline him. Here's directly from the FTC: www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/disclosures-101-social-media-influencers

@@kuber5987 Nope. The tag doesn't work, since you can bypass it by starting a little bit into the video. If Turtle Beach wanted, they could have a link on their site where they start the video past the mark that the tag appears. (And I didn't see the tag, despite having watched the whole video.) The rules state it must be present and unavoidable.

@@kuber5987 Same here. Sucks, because it's so easy to prevent. Just a banner up during the promotion portion of the video would do it.

I've definitely connected thru Charleston (as a passenger) a few times while going to/from Kentucky. This final leg of my flight was about an hour, the taxi was about 30 minutes. I kept wondering if we were taxiing to Kentucky. XDD

I love the guy doing ATC telling you the weather is fake. Dude, everything is fake, if you're going to have that mindset, then why do VATSIM at all? Just ignore his directions and when he yells at you tell him, "don't worry dude, it's just a simulator, colliding with another plane isn't going to hurt you."

New to flight sims and never been near a cockpit IRL (except for before 9/11 when the pilots used to invite us kids up to the cockpit - that was pretty cool) and yeah man, this feels true! There's some training activities though, and there are also lots of tutorials around. You start to get the hang of the various concepts after a while. Also Microsoft flight sim has a "Co pilot" option that can handle various aspects of the aircraft for you, so you don't have to master everything at once and you can get into the big jets before too long. But maybe stick to single player for a while first (I'm not ready to ruin everyone else's days on multiplayer servers JUST yet!) It's great if you love to learn like I do though. I never knew that flight sims were so accessible until lately. For my whole life, every time I fly, I've sat there looking at planes and wondering what all the parts and buttons do and what goes into flying them. Came across it after I was in Adelaide for 2 weeks, where my dad's house has a great view of the airport and it's nice to sit out on the verandah and watch the planes land and take off, which got me wondering again how it all works. I'm starting to think like an older person going "wow the things we have these days - how lucky are we!" There are some incredible mods that make it even better too. Really realistic

that was most probably a tail strike on departure (12, maybe 12.5 degrees before lift off). My advice: hold below 10 until airborne. The problem of course was with the flaps (retracted) but that’s another story. The habit of kind of pausing below 10 if it doesn’t feel like it’s coming up might not be “by the book” but it keeps pilots out of the office 😉

I used to be C3 Rated at vZDC in VATSIM, but traffic really dwindled and led to only a handful of interactions a night. Obviously some areas are more busy than others, but how is traffic on the network now? I haven't flown or controlled in probably 7 or 8 years.
