Actually, what I really want to see is the return of the old repeater, the Girandoni air rifle like the one used in Lewis & Clark Expedition, but with modern PCP technology, and in .25 or .35 caliber. That would really be something.

The best airgun channel on KZbin, you offer the most comprehensive videos that offers all the info we could want as airgun enthusiasts. As someone who loves airguns but has only had Pumpers and Springers because the cost barrier to PCP’s is so high, this video totally sold me on this rifle! Also thanks for going over the construction and info about the hand pump. Extra information like that is so helpful especially for the uninitiated

I got mine for Christmas, it’s every bit as good as it’s reputation. I shoot mine between 3k-2k psi with the hammer spring turned down 720 degrees from max setting using a Crosman Premiers 14.3 HPs. It’s a 1 hole shooter with little effort. Great for bench shooting or small game.

JC -- Thank you! This was the first review out of many airgun review channels I've seen of this gun that was very fair about expectation and what the true accuracy this rifle is capable of. Seriously other KZbinrs just went through the motions without as much care as you took while they focused on shipping it to the next airgun reviewer. I hope you do keep this gun in your arsenal for comparison videos in the future. I know that PCP pump gave you a work out from 0 to full and thank you for demonstrating assembly to maintenance on that as well.

Thank you for your support. I was glad to have a little work-out on film 😉👍 I try to provide as much info as I can so you can be informed on your potential purchases. So many to choose from out there. This is a great PCP if your primary air source is a hand pump. The "EPT" system works well. PCP's can become extremely costly in just providing an airsource.

I own this rifle in .22 cal. & it is a beast. Ive taken cyotes with this rifle with 18 gr hollows , 1 headshot & its down , very acurate like john. said. Extremely acurate. Rifle. Very powerful peice to have in your arsenal. I would not want to get accidentaly shot with it. You would certainly be killed. Very powerful. deadly rifle & not a kids toy. Not a teens rifle either. This is a precision engineered, . high performance. .pellet rifle that packs a serious punch on any small to mid size game. , in my opinion. !... others may vary. But its a beast of. Power , precision & speed that is hands down my favorite rifle out of 11. I own & you can purchase a tactical body kit for it too.

Newbies using a hand pump need to pump 30 or so strokes and let the pump cool a few minutes to keep it from damaging the internals of the pump. Pumping it fast and non stop will indeed damage it. It isn’t a race unless they want to buy a new pump sooner than later. Sorry for the second comment but felt it may help someone from damaging their pump like I did years ago.

Great job explaining! Really appreciate you taking the time all the while explaining the nuances of a pcp air gun. I’ve been using pcp for years and would have loved someone taking the time to explain the basics. Pcp’s in “general” are much more accurate than your cheaper break barrel’s. Just due to the general physics of the barrel being disconnected each time you cock the gun. This gun package is a great value for everything it gives you for the price. Thanks again!

Not really the barrels lock and unlock that causes accuracy for most to be sub par on springer. Its the lock time from piston release to hitting the compression wall and all that violence happening prior to the pellet ever moving.. If you can be extremely consistent with your hold most springers are fairly accurate. Not saying that the lock mechanism can't make or break a gun as it can but if the barrel bolt is tight and the lock is doing its job the barrel movement to cock and then lock won't have POI fluctuations.

Airgun Detectives-Airgun Reviews just set mine up today. Now my hand pump only wants to fill my rifle up to 2900 psi so looks like I’m stuck in the sweet spot until I buy Umarex’s new ReadyAir compressor 🤣 Seriously though my pump must be defective because after 2900 you have to do hand stands (not joking) on the handles to get them to come down! Other than that issue I’m loving the rifle, my JSB come in a couple days than it’s time to zero the scope.
@ZacharyJ6190

@@ZacharyJ6190 Keep in mind the pump gets much harder to compress as the pressure goes up. The pump just might be fine. Try to give it another 30 fully compressed pumps and see if that will move the needle. If the pump is bad exchange it for a new one!!😉👍

The Nova Vista co from Macau China makes this gun as well as the Freedom. Aspen, Liberty/Alpha, and the Avenger. Really awesome guns, very accurate, dependable, and above all a great value. All 4 NV guns I have have punched well above their weight and hold their own with my FX Crown and even my SK-19. This gun is ideal for the multi pump/break barrel owner that wants to step up their game. Personally I’m very much looking for NV to release a bull pup rifle that may compete with the Wildcat. Big shoes to fill but very possible. Great review, just found your channel and subscribed. God bless.

Excellent review. I want to get an entry level PCP and I'm trying to decide which one. I have heard good things about the Air Venturi Avenger. I hope you'll do a review on it someday. It seems the Umarex and the Avenger look like the same company made them except the Avenger goes to 300 bar and can be fully regulated. At $299 it seems like a good deal--but you don't get a pump so the Umarex at $349 seems pretty good because you get a pump. I also heard the Avenger is harder to pump but you can tune the regulator pressure to make it easier. Please let us know when you get the new bipod kits because I'll be needing another. I was very impressed by the quality of them when I installed the first one. Thanks Again JC.
@AirgunDetectives

Hey Buddy thanks for watching. Cosmetically the two rifles looks similar but completely different internally. This one has the "Ever Pressure System" and is limited to 250 bar. The Avenger you have to fill it to 300 bar, 4300 psi, and it has an adjustable regulator. If your air source will be a hand pump then the Origin would be the only choice. Half the pumping with this model. I am working on a new and improved bipods, my manufacturer stopped production so I had to find someone new. The new models will even be better, several upgrades since I am starting over. I will let everyone know as soon as they are ready. 😉👍

Is a 1/2x20 adapter possible? Seems especially loud with the lighter pellets like the chps. Need to use heavier pellets, 18-25 grains, to lower the dbs to be more back yard friendly. A negative is that it's very dangerous to do any repair work on this yourself. You must send it in for repairs.

Is their some different mags available for purchase that are usable in the origin that would or does work better. Properly in the .22 cal rifle ??

Excellent Video of the Origin as always. This gun checks all the boxes for me, as i like a Light weight gun, as i shoot my light weight gun much more often than my heavier guns. One thing i am VERY Interested in, that you didnt mention was, When aired up to max and left for say two weeks aired up does it have any leak down at all, or How much PSI does it loose over a two week period. As i have a Gen.2 Fortitude that leaks 1000psi in a week and this is my second Fortitude after the replacement, the first gen.2 fortitude leaks 1000 psi in 2 days. So leak down over time is very important to me, and others i would think. Also was your review based on OUT OF THE BOX - or did you make some adjustments to it?
@AirgunDetectives
@AirgunDetectives 3 жыл бұрын
Your rifle should not leak. If it does it is defective and should be repaired. This was out of the box I actually mentioned that. What you see is what you get. This was 100% stock. I didn't even touch the trigger. 👍

@@AirgunDetectives two defective Fortitudes, with Pyramyid air hand picking me a Good gun both times, i asked them to do a week Leak down test on the second one, it leaks 1000 psi in a week, 1st one leaked 1000psi in two days. Neither my Marauder Rifle or my Marauder Pistol has any leak down issues at all over 10 years with them not a single problem, read online the Fortitudes are Leakers by many people on the forums and must be opened up as sending them back to Crossman is a like tossing a coin whether you get a good one or worse leaker. Leak down out of the Box is Very Important to me over a Average out of the box what it is Failure rate Out of the box?? pretty high on the Fortitude

One word, NSA 17.5g .219s. Makes this a viable 100y gun that will shoot in the 1.25 to 1.5 minute 10 shot groups after a tune and some barrel work and 2.5 to 3 minute out the box. We have tuned about 50 of these for clients. Easy to get 40ftlbs and a usable shot string with very tight ES and SD. Pushing the 17.5s or 19.5s at 39 to 42ftlbs and with a little barrel work its a sub 1.5 minute 100y gun. Trigger is decent and with a little polishing can be made fairly good (no its not a match trigger and never gonna be) for its price point its a superb trigger as most in this range are really bad. Overall the Avenger is a better gun, but they are extremely similar. We tune A LOT of .22 and .25 Avengers for customers. The Avenger is thr better gun, that's not saying this isn't an amazing value it is. Its a very easy gun to tune and we build our 40ftlb tune off of a 3250psi to 2500psi charge with a ES of around 9fps and a SD of around 2fps over 25 shots with slugs, pellet ES and SD will be slightly higher. The barrel as it sets is fine but REALLY comes to life with a little work. We lathe turn a 11 degree crown and JB bore paste and lead lap the barrel and quickly have a match grade barrel finish then we smooth the leade and deburr transfer port after a slight size adjustment to it and flow optimization.. For 500 bucks at that point 150 tune and 350 package you have a gun that will shoot sub 1.5 minute 10 shot 100y groups.. and will print consistently sub half inch 10 shot 50y groups with JSB 25.39 monsters. 25 shots at 40ftlbs on a 3250 to 2500psi charge. 3000 to 2500psi on that tune will give you around 19 shots. You could really shoot this tune down to 2300 and you will drop around 7fps on the slugs per shot once you are at 2450psi... There are a few tunes we can do that work extremely well and keep the gun in harmony. 60ftlbs is doable with this gun if you want it we designed a few parts that allow 58 to 60ftlbs but its a very short string at those power levels. Will be a 3600psi to 3100psi tune that gives 10 shots at 60ftlbs with a ES of around 13fps and SD of around 4fps with slugs but its really humping those slugs down range pushing 23.5g slugs super sonic. Griffen 16g Cup base. 219s are amazing in this gun on a 35ftlb tune (slightly higher then stock power but a super tight SD and ED over a lot of shots 3400psi fill around 35 shots with a ES around 6fps with slugs and a 1 to 1.5 SD. Slugs will almost always have a lower SD and deff a lower ES then pellets simply due to slugs weights are MUCH more consistent then pellets as are dia's.) My favorite tune is designed my the 21g .219 Griffins shallow cup base HPs (absolutely a monster of a wound channel creating slug.) Pushing them at 45ftlbs/985fps on a 3300psi starting fill and a 20 shot string with a ES of around 5 and a SD sub 2fps. That slug is still carrying 30ftlbs at a 100y and sub minute 100y 5 shot groups (at a indoor range taking wind out of play) are the norm and 10 shot 100y groups run right around 1 to 1.25 minute. This isn't far off the 100y performance of my Impacts, Crowns and HMX LRT's. Again for 500 bucks package and tune. Having a sub 1.5 minute capable gun is flat amazing. My husband and I are in to the high end world of PCP guns and own A LOT of world class guns. We rarely play with low end stuff, however this gun and the Avenger we have been shooting A LOT and not just tuning customer guns but rather we both own a .22 and a .25 Avenger and a .22 Origin each and shoot the hell out of them. The guns are extremely tunable and can be made to do what you want it to. Want a 3000psi start pressure and a huge number of shots at 12ftlbs no problem with a tight ES and SD. Want 60ftlbs no problem (does require some custom parts and some flow optimization and opening restrictions) I can say don't let the 3600psi fill pressure scare you, its simply not needed. Most of our tunes are between 3000 and 3300psi starting pressure and yes the difference between 3000 and 3600psi is a lot to a hand pumper so we keep fill pressures as low as possible on these tunes and on the Avenger tunes most are 3600 to 3900psi fill pressures so keep that in mind when deciding between the two but the Avenger is the better gun without a doubt.. however if you don't have a compressor or 300 bar tank the Avenger is not a hand pumpers gun IMHO the fill pressures are to high. BTW we do have a few in stock at our ebay store. I don't know if the AGD's is OK so I won't put a link as I didn't post this trying to make sells we have all the customers we could ever need. Just wanting everyone to know what is possible with these guns with either a tune company doing the work or you doing it your self. If you do anyone thing to this gun, that thing would be barrel work. Smooth the leade, deburr the transfer port (everyone will be burred up from the factory some are really bad) crown the barrel (we use a lathe so we can turn the crowns perfectly, we also use a Manson Precision carbide manual crown cutting tool and its superb and cheap at 400 bucks but not for the average Joe.. we cut A LOT OF barrels in the powder burning world and PCP world so its a value for us. And lead lapp the barrel with JB bore paste and then .5 micron polishing compound and you will have a flawless match grade barrel finish pretty quickly. Its easy to do just takes some time and some items that you will have to buy but the results will be extremely worth it... groups will shrink to near 2000 dollar guns performance levels and the gun will become farrrrrrrrr less ammo sensitive (pellet fussy). When your smoothing the leade just be careful to remove almost no metal. Use a very fine grit paper at the start but the smoothing the leade is very important as they are nasty from the factory and really gouge up projectiles. Enjoy a mighty fine preforming budget gun guys and gals and when you want to take it to the next level find a GOOD tuner or start tinkering your self and turn a great shooting value gun in to a great shooting gun that shoots WELL beyond its price point. These guns tune will out shoot FX dream series out the box at a 100y consistently (trust me I know I own 3x Dream lite carbon bottle guns, 2x .22s and a .25 and my husband owns a .22 a .25 and a .30) with slugs, now once dialed in the Dream lites will shoot lights out and yes it will out preform it but not by very much group wise. These guns will shoot 10 shot 100y groups with its preferred slug that are around 3 minutes out the box with some being a little smaller on average and some a little bigger on average just depends on that specific gun. with the barrel work and getting the ES super tight that will shrink down to around 1.25 minutes (keep in mind im talking at our indoor 100y range) and I can't stress it enough a 350 dollar package gun that's shooting 1.25 minute 10 shot groups at a 100y is out of this world good... when I bought my FX Boss .30 when it came out years back 2 moa was about as small a 10 shot 100y groups as possible... when I got my first Impact MK1 .25 and that gun tuned to the bleeding edge 1.25 to 1.5 minute 10 shot 100y groups was about as good as it got and thats with weight and headsize sorted JSB 25.39s and tens of thousands of rounds dialing in to perfection getting the gun shooting EXACTLY as I wanted it to and most 100y groups was right at 1.3 minute consistently with a 1 minute groups here and there. Now my impact MKII .30 will shoot sub moa all day long 10 shot 100y groups.. my point in that is 5 years ago a 2200 dollar gun that was super dialed in would shoot just about what this gun will do now with a 150 dollar tune... its truly unbelievable.

@@AirgunDetectives It has actually been even better than just good today. I chipped off one of the two BB feeding lips on my KWC 75 TAC (Tanfoglio Limited Custom) magazine some time qgo. That particular mag somehow has got very high lips on it. Spare mags for that pistol is of course nowhere close to be sold. Surely you can find of them in the US - and even for a ridiculously low price even. But not over here - especially in 4.5mm. Tried over a month ago some ordinary "super glue"'. No effin chance. No idea why it is called "SUPER glue".. But. Since nothing to lose.. I tried this "Gorilla Glue". That stuff somehow reacts with water. Put glue onto the mag tip - and dipped the lip in water. Clamped it together and let it be for hours in the boiler room where it is warm... -DAMN!! It worked! Loaded the mag with BBs and the lip pair did not even widen up one bit by the pressure of the BBs and the compressed tight follower spring. Measured the width of the lip pair with a digital caliper just for the interest. It held. Truly a happyhappyjoyjoy day today! 😁😁
