I once sat in a Porsche 911 GT3 R when they did testing... They dropped the car with race pace drop and I was not strapped into the bucket seat... The car was gone underneath me and I fell back into the bucket seat and it hurt pretty bad lol

Gamen4Bros yup many race cars have these air jacks and all you have to do is place a high pressure air hose with a quick disconnect fitting onto the air fitting on the car which is usually around the number plate area

GT cars run jacks with a built in exhaust valve, the air escapes from each jack. Others , the slower drops , because the pressure has to go back through all the pipework to the fitting for the air hose.

Yeah, they work kinda like the hydraulic pistons on a digger. They will retract into themselves through the floor of the car.

Guess it has to do with wear or potential damage on the air jacks? Especially smaller private teams probably want to avoid replacing parts often. Letting the car settle down slowly during testing and quickly when it counts during racing. Suspensions should take it no problem.

The system on gt3 class cars is incredibly fast, theres often a release valve for the air. Most visible in my mind on the Huracan in the back.

Yes, it will cause premature wear on damper valving. You can adjust the drop time of the airjacks by slowely turning the release valve as you are pulling it out, we would only fast drop our race cars when being in a hurry.
