The customers have a good point. They were told they flight was delayed, then the airline shut the gate ON TIME and had an aircraft parked there but just wouldn't let people on. This is a great example of being completely inflexible for no reason and not giving a shit about your customers. With all the time arguing, it would have been easy to lead them through to the gate at a brisk jogging speed, reopen the doors, and seat them. Instead, the give some bullshit reason for why a door that's shut cannot be reopened. Yeah? If the cops said they needed to deplane a criminal, it'd be open in a second. I'm sick of airlines acting like they're special, that when their paying customers come, they get to dictate terms and anyone who challenges them for unfairness immediately gets policed out like they're terrorists (which did not happen here but would have been a guarantee in the US). Restaurants don't treat their customers this way; stores don't treat their customers this way; spas don't treat their customers this way, so why do airlines treat their customers this way?
@aoifecaetan98325 жыл бұрын
@@whatever77054 I actually totally agree with you, the airline was in the wrong here (honestly idk why they broadcast some of these interactions because a lot of the time the customer is in the right and it makes their company look bad) but I just think that when you act that way to customer service, who a lot of the time aren't calling the shots on whether or not you fly, really makes you unsympathetic. The way some people act, swearing and screaming at employees, blaming employees who weren't the ones who made the initial promises, and even rushing the gate to force their way in is immature and dangerous and really paints you in a way that makes the audience not want to see you get what you want, and I'm fairly sure the employees who are trying to help probably feel the same way. No matter how right you are, I don't think that's an excuse to be this rude to innocent employees, however frustrating they may be, I really don't think it's appropriate to act the way these customers do in any situation. Clearly it doesn't get you what you want, as they weren't able to argue their way onto the flight, they just lucked into it.

Once in tokyo my flight was late, first for two hours, then for an extra 2 hours then for an extra 3 hours and then was rescheduled for the next day in the morning. I was the only passenger who wasn't Japanese and i learned a valuable lesson. Nobody got angry, nobody got crazy but everybody talked to the staff reminding them that this was their responsibility. Many of the passengers decided to give up and cancel their tickets, but the one of us who didn't got all upgraded, we were offered 1200 miles and we were admitted to the best hotel at Narita, in one of the best rooms, by cabs and the next day we were woken up by the airline staff which took us to our cabs and back to the airport and on our flight. And all the hotel reservation and everything we had already paid for was immediately refunded, given that we had evidence of what we paid for. I am not a huge fan of Japan, but when it comes to customer service, if you do not get angry you get really phenomenal service.

Do any of you not understand that it can sometimes take an hour and a half to two hours just in traffic and if you are not familiar with traffic patterns, that can make you late. Also, I have seen some airports with parking lots that were easy to maneuver in. I've heard several customers say that there's a problem with the parking lot there. Perhaps the airport should address the parking lot problems. Just a suggestion. I have driven around parking lot looking for an available spot for 20 minutes, because there were no spots available making me late for whatever appointment I had. And yes I started driving around The parking lot before my appointment time.
@singenstattatmen50964 жыл бұрын
@@nevaehlumiere8019 We all understand that, which is why you leave way ahead of time. If I know it will take me an hour under 'normal' circumstances /traffic conditions to go to the airport, you will see me leave for it 5 hours before my plane is supposed to go. So even if it takes me twice as long, add half an hour for looking for a parking space if going by car, I will still be there with more than 2 hours to spare. It's a flight. It costs a lot of money and you can't just 'hop on the next one', unless you are stuck in traffic without moving for three hours, it really is your own fault if you don't make it because you didn't leave early enough.

@dwightstewart71816 жыл бұрын
. Passengers just don't understand an airplane isn't a bus. They can't simply throw open the door for every late arrival. Flights have very tight schedules, which, if missed, can set them back significantly as new runway arrangements are made, new flight plans filed & approved, and so on. To meet those schedules, doors must be closed beforehand to go over required checklists, pressurize the aircraft, and so on. Those are not options. The initial checklists must be completed before aircraft can even back away from the gates. In the meantime, ground crews (who have other planes waiting) are gathering outside to move the aircraft. And lets not forget the passengers onboard expecting to make connecting flights. Catering to late arrivals, making them miss flights, is not fair to them. The late arrivals screwed up, not them.
@Jivvi6 жыл бұрын
The guy at 4:34 actually has that explained to him, and still tries to play the "but it hasn't taken off yet" card. Maybe he would still try that when it's cleared for take-off and speeding down the runway with the front wheel in the air.

@ItsAv3rageGamer6 жыл бұрын
They literally got there 8 minutes before the flight was due to take off and thought they'd be fine. Typical ignorant attitude of 'the plane hasn't taken off yet so what's the issue?' they really do think its like a bus or a taxi that should wait up until the last second because they were too late. As the woman said, it is easy if you arrive on time. The car park delayed you over 20 minutes? That's complete BS, they would have been late anyway and if your smart you arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight so you can account for any complications.
@dwightstewart71816 жыл бұрын
Sam .. In my case, I've only been late for one flight. Our flight was delayed at the previous airport when a kid (flying alone) would not remain seated for takeoff, causing us to nearly miss our connecting international flight. They rushed us off the plane onto a bus and then drove us across the tarmac to stairs for the departing flight, which had already pushed back from the gate with engines running. We then sat for roughly 30 minutes in a line of planes waiting to take off. Otherwise, we've always arrived early, with plenty of time to leisurely board our flight.
