Bless you for sharing Elvis. I was 10 when he passed. That day felt like the world stopped spinning. All my friends moms adored him. My husband and I visited Graceland a few years ago. The second I walked in I was overcome with the sense of home. This grand house did not feel like a mansion. It felt like a home. That struck me. If I didn't know he had passed I would have believed he was upstairs about to walk down. What warmth he must have possessed. Is it humility that he had? Not needing the accolades for his charity. I think so. We are lucky to have had him. Thank you so much for sharing this video.

I'm not Mexican but I am Puerto Rican and I'm happy that the hating on Elvis never came to our community. My Puerto Rican grandfather is who introduced me to Elvis's music as a kid. Elvis had depression and so do I, and his music talks about depression a lot (He didn't write songs but he chose songs that spoke to him. Back then, musicians didn't typically write their own songs; that was left to professional songwriters.). That helped me get through really suicidal times in high school and helps me with my depression today. Elvis is a good reminder to fact-check information about any subject before accepting it as "fact."

We live in Nashville Tn. I was 8 years old, and will never forget that letter coming in the mailbox. It was from the municipal autotorium. I ran in the house, and my mom opened it. I couldn't wait to see the 2 tickets for me and my mom. To go see Elvis, who I'd been a huge fan of. She opened it and in bold red letters,. It read SOLD Out. I have to be honest. I cried. Mary was of the cooks he hired at Graceland. Elvis affectionately called Mary "May Wee". He told Mary, you have a job with me as long as you want it. And you also see he loved her and purchased her a house. One time, Elvis was in the hospital and the doctors had him on a special diet. Elvis called Mary and told her to make him some hotdogs with all the toppings. Wrap them up in clothes and sneak them into his hospital room. Mary did it. She said he started eating on those hot dogs and said 'We sure can get by em can't me MayWee".

You also have to remember, because Elvis was breaking up the segregation mindset, so people, who did not want this happening did spread very nasty rumors about him to keep the racial tension going between he and people of color. Also, I heard on a documentary that his mother had some Jewish bloodline, which does not surprise me because African-Americans and Jewish-Americans have always worked closely together because of racial inequalities within both communities. The NAACP was founded by the Jewish community. Also, Elvis is related by blood to both presidents Abraham Lincoln and Jimmy Carter on his father's side. Interesting facts...

Trying to do everything they can to stir the pot and divide people and make them hate each other based on bullshit so they have eyeballs on their fake ass content instead of showing the positive in people and brining us all together. It's a damn shame how they smear people and massacre their good name in search of the all mighty dollar. Its still going on today. Fake news. It's EVIL. A not quite so well known story is about his friendship with Roy Hamilton, whom he greatly admired, especially for his version of " Hurt " which Elvis covered later in life. Elvis covered both Roy's medical bills prior to his death and his funeral expenses, and also contributed towards Jackie Wilson's medical expenses after he collapsed on stage in September 1975, and his long illness afterwards. Both these facts were not revealed until long after Elvis died ...

These stories only make the light of day because people felt compelled to speak of his good nature. There are many more acts of generosity that are never discussed because he did not advertise his good deeds. Minnie Pearson happened to be walking by a Cadillac dealership in 1975 and was admiring a car when Elvis saw her looking in. He had her come inside the dealership and bought her the one she was looking at. Check out the Baz Luhrmann interview of Sam Bell. He is the friend that took Elvis to Shake Rag.

Like it or not, he's timeless and on a completely nother level NO ONE has reached. People keep waiting for it but it's never going to happen.
