I had a fast charging wireless charger when I had a Samsung and I never used it. I ended up giving it away. I feel like it would be the same with the airpods. I'd rather just plug the case in when i'm done using them.

I’ve had AP1 for almost 2 years. The only problem I really had with them was reception in certain areas. I work in Manhattan on 6th & 47th, whenever I step out of the building a go a few feet I start to have blackout areas. I don’t know if it’s the wind or the radio waves from all the tv equipment, but in many cases the blackout pauses my audio play for so long it that it I have to double tap to restart play... sometimes that doesn’t work and I have to remove, wait and reinsert AirPods to get them to reconnect with iPhone or watch. I received my AirPods 2 yesterday and noticed the difference immediately. I walked out and around my standard blackout areas and although the playback was a little tin-y sounding, it didn’t cut out at all. I’d hope we would get color choices, but I don’t think Apple will change it’s trademark White, so I’m happy with these.

Great review! Really appreciate the demo of device switching. The only issue is the new LED on the outside of the case. I'll have to use the new case but I loved how the LED on the regular case lit the Airpod cavities in a dark room.

I really like that the old case lit up from the inside, in the dark it helped you find the actual buds to pick up. It would have been nice to have a little LED inside as well but redundancy is not very Apple.

@@TEDdotcom That's not redundancy. Redundancy would be two on-screen buttons. They have volume buttons for the camera for when you want to take a selfie with the back camera because tapping the on-screen button would be hard. Apple doesn't do redundancy.

Here’s the thing. I’ve had them for a day and I think they do sound better. I’m convinced there is more bass and they are definitely louder than my first gen pods (but that may be due to their age). Anyway, I’m happy I got the new ones, the mics on my old ones died when my toddler tried to eat them a year ago and the battery life was starting to get a bit annoyingly short. But I used my pods a lot. A whole lot. Love AirPods.

I never owned the 1st gen AirPods. I did buy the 2nd gen AirPods ($159), mainly because I had to trade in an old iPhone for some store credit. It was either a Bose soundlink micro or AirPods. Chose AirPods cos mostly be using them often.

This video is slightly misleading. The GEN 2 AirPods WITHOUT Wireless Charging have the mirrored hinge, the lower button on back, and LED light inside. You can tell by the model number; A2031 and A2032 are gen 2.

I have first gen AirPods and I run them about 14 hours a day and the battery life is not an issue. They are amazing and will not upgrade until they come up with some ground breaking differences between AirPods. Good video tho ✊🏽

I would have passed on these but my daughter has been wanting a pair for some time and its her birthday! She insisted on the hand-me-down pair. I do find connecting faster and the sound quality is definitely better (crisp, louder). Best of all, Siri without tapping. It was instantaneous. Hey Siri, send [] a text saying [], and it was done. A reasonable bump. I didn't pay extra for the wireless charging. I was so hoping for matte black or space gray.

My first generation Airpods accidentally ended up in the washing machine. I did put the whole thing in a bag of rice, but the left one does faster the call time is way to short anyway. I give you my feedback after I use my second Generation for a while.

I have the 1st gen when they first came out..they have been dying on me constantly for a couple of months so I will be getting the 2nd gen because of the hands free Siri and able to respond to listen and respond to messages without taking out my phone....as for the wireless charging I will still be using the lighting cable as I think they charge faster

The only way people would really know is if they see the led light on your case unless you have the normal case. If you also have the wireless case, they can see the different design on the hinge.

I loooove the OG AirPods, but I don’t think I’ll be upgrading. The battery life on my left AirPod drains faster than the right one, but overall they’re still super solid. Mr Krona I have Beats X. It was good until it died, can’t charge. So I send it back and they replaced it 1 to 1. But few months later, same case. Now I’m using RHA M390 Wireless. It’s awesome, connection and range not as good as Beats X but I can sync it to 2 iPhones at the same time but it will only broadcast sound from 1 phone at the same time, but it switched seamlessly. So I’m pretty much stick with it for now.

I’m getting the new ones but I have a question: how do I tell from seeing the box if they are the newer version and the store employee isn’t trying to sell me the 1st gen? is there any description out on the box that states the H1 chip or something? please do let me know! - I would rather be able to spot the difference right from the box BEFORE making any purchase. I have an iPhone 6 and I using AirPods 2 but I have many problems starting with not having access to the panel that shows the gestures on Bluetooth settings and it doesn't get connected with ICloud it connects just as a normal Bluetooth device it is because it's an iPhone 6?

I replaced my Airpods (1st gen - AP1s) with AP2s. I’ve had nearly the same exact experience using them so far as using my 1st gens. I used the “hey Siri” feature of the AP2s once so far and it worked perfectly, responded quickly and sounded great. I’ve had no issues connecting or using my AP2s with my iPhone X. I did encounter an issue using the AP2s with my 2013 MBP. They connect to my MBP but will not stay connected. I tried manually connecting them and got the same issue. I tried “forget this device” and reconnecting them manually and they still will not stay connected. They connect for anywhere between five and ten seconds then they disconnect and the audio returns to outputting on the Mac. Apple support had me try a few things but the issue persists. I am running the MacOS beta program OS so, that may be the cause. My AP1s had no issues connecting or staying connected. Otherwise, the AP2s work just like and as well as my AP1s. Also, after updating my iPhone X to iOS12.2, my AP1s were connecting faster than ever and my AP2s don’t seem to connect any faster than my old ones after updating to iOS12.2. Sound is very similar if not exactly the same on both gens of the airpods. Wireless charging works great on the AP2s. If you’ve got AP1s and you like them and they work well, AP2s are not a “must upgrade”. My wife inherited my AP1s and loves them.

I sent the first ones back thinking they were gen 1 - and then bought from somewhere else, still with light on inside. I've checked the part number and they're gen 2! Maybe it's a UK thing but I can't find any gen 2s with the light on the outside.

Is it true that you can’t double tap to play in the KZbin app on iOS after double tapping to pause? I’m on iOS 12.2 and updated the YT app today. Double tap to play after pausing is a no go for me. Anyone else?? Gen 2 AirPods.

I never picked up AirPods 1st Gen, i was waiting for upgrades, like new chipset,Bluetooth 5.0, wireless charging...now that my wife and I upgraded all our technology last fall, iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro 12.9’ (3rd Gen), Apple Watch series 4, iMac 5k, Apple TV 4K...all have bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, it was time to cut the cord on EarPods now that AirPods (2nd Gen) are released. Seamlessly syncing with all devices. Apple never redesigns within 2 years.
