thanks hydra! I just picked up mordheim on sale 75% off a few weeks ago, and have been having trouble finding good video guides to listen to while working. Most guides I'm finding are 80-90 minute playthroughs labeled 'guide', and while they go into a ton of detail its hard to pay attention to them when they meander through it as if they are explaining items on a list. Alternatively you have great narrative flow! I can tell you spend a bit more time preparing to have a good concise and to the point message. Not to throw too much shade at the other people but I just can't listen to somebody drone on mostly aimlessly while playing for an hour and a half unless it has my full attention. thanks again for this, its head and shoulders over 90% of the other guides i'm finding!

This. I cannot abide by people that are 4/5ths fluff and 1/5th content.
@grahamelliott95063 жыл бұрын
@@insanetrickster I don't know what this is even supposed to mean. If you can't watch a video about a game you are considering, look at the gameplay, and make a decision because it contains a fair amount of non gameplay -how do you possibly operate in such an advertisement and marketing filled world that we live in? Do you have trouble understanding the commercials and ads on youtube and television? When a game advertisement comes out, are you confused as to what is gameplay and what is cinematic? It sounds like marketing and 'fluff' as you call it, simply works too strongly on you, and influences your decision and you can't tell it from the reality of the product.

@@grahamelliott9506 You have entirely misunderstood me. I was agreeing with you on the point of guides that generate the effect of _" I just can't listen to somebody drone on mostly aimlessly while playing for an hour and a half "._ Its really that simple.

I think something you underrated quite a bit about toughness is the critical hit resistance, if your going for a hard tank character being susceptible to critical hits, is going to really mess with your day.
@AirsickHydra7 жыл бұрын
Yes it certainly has its place. This vid was made a while ago but from what I remember if you wanted to go for that Agil + tough or just pure parry + tough then thats a great tank in the making. But you can't just rely on toughness to be a tank without one of the other mitigators as a primary, thats why I don't put that much emphasis into it. You are right though, crit resist is pretty important.Cheers for the comment!

Thank you very much for this Video! it helped me finally reaching lvl10 with a warband (after playing Mordheim since a couple of years) =D

Honestly, I find most characters benefit from anything that makes them survive better. So.. anything that hits slow and might miss, better hit VERY hard when it does hit. This means, a character likely to miss, also needs serious armour. And a weapon that does above average damage. With the way RNG is going for me, I've noticed parry focused characters are pretty mediocre. I have only recently gotten back in the game and feel the difficulty curve of the game is rather different when investing in more all-rounded characters.

I like the way you think, buddy! It is completely like myself >D Kudos to you for this video, very nice explanations! I would say you should have kept the caster explanation out of the mix, and put that in the ... spellcaster video :D But it wasn't too much - so fine :D This video will serve as a basic for how skill points could be distributed without specifically saying what people should do, really nice for anyone new to the game!
@AirsickHydra7 жыл бұрын
That was the plan! It's hard to be in depth in a short video, so many unique skills in each tree can completely change builds. But I think if you follow this advice you can't go "wrong" with a character. That was my intention. Good pickup on the spell caster! It's a video for melee builds after all... but then again, am I the only person who uses some casters in melee? :D

out of curiosity, what's your opinion on taking leadership on characters like darksouls or flagellants who are immune to all alone, fear, and terror? It does help keep your army from routing I suppose but helping your characters pass those tests seems to be the most valuable thing about Ld so it seems sorta wasted on characters that pass them automatically. But that being said, alertness seems sorta useless on those characters too since I don't think they'd make the best scouts (though I'm new to mordheim so I could be wrong) and intelligence just seems like a straight up waste for them. What I'm doing for the time being is boosting Ld. and taking demoralize but I feel like I'm missing something.
@AirsickHydra7 жыл бұрын
Good thinking.. All alone tests > Turn priority in many ways, especially when it's a character who's probably going last anyway. Mostly I think leadership is king due to demoralize and other such skills.
@PHeMoX4 жыл бұрын
" It does help keep your army from routing I suppose" Does it? I thought whether or not the warband starts routing depends on _all_ characters having to not fail the routing test?! Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think a leader that doesn't easily route is enough to become immune as a warband. And in some cases I'd probably prefer seeing them route than getting killed by an ogre they would never realistically beat.

Can you please do a video on who not to parry Every time I play when parry on a certain unit they always pass my parry even when I have a 120% on parry Thanks

This took me a while to work out too. Basically opponents that have hands that are weapons in the chaos warband. Along with the impressives and daemons.

Am I being pessimistic, or is toughness really as utterly worthless as it seems? The Wounds increase seems very small...
@AirsickHydra7 жыл бұрын
DGneoseeker1 yeah I think crit resist > HP gain. Its one of those hidden buffs you never get to appreciate :)
@Srab236 жыл бұрын
The wound increase is percentage increase of your base HP. every time you level you increase your base HP, increasing the effect of each toughness point. If you also get the skill that increases your base HP by 40, you're going to be getting A LOT of hp. I have an ogre with almost 600 wounds, and it's good times.
