144a is unavailable here in America and getting it imported is expensive. Youre better off running to Wal-Mart or best buy and buying duster gas and modifying them to fit an adapter for the mags. You will need silicon oil to keep your o rings from drying out. Same with propane and propane accessories. It's reccomended you mix some silicone oil with the propane via resivoir or putting a drop down the nozzle if your adapter doesn't have one. You still have to lubricate all the moving parts and high contact areas but just don't go overboard and dump an entire can on it.

do you think the vfc green gas is good? (the one in the blue cylinder) from what I understand also contains the lubricant.👍

Red gas is for cold days mostly and black is for ultimate fps. If you want that kind of power, use hpa and deal with the air tank.

I run Abbey Brut Sniper in most of my GBB's as I maintain them often so it's not a problem. Stops silicone getting in the barrel and bucking which is where you don't want it. 144a is crap for anything other than hot summers. I use ASG ultra air power gas in my TM's when it's not warm enough for 144a.

I really don't think Red Gas is R22, but Propylene (the same stuff as in Map Pro). R22 is banned pretty much everywhere, and the pressure difference with Propane is not that much (157PSI vs 142PSI at 30ºC, 84PSI vs 78PSI at 10ºC). R22 has been out of use in airsoft ever since "green gas" came out like 20 years ago... it's called "green" precesily because is a more evironmental friendly. Red gas is simply propylene. And there's no way the 3.0 is propane, despite the info in the can stating it's c3h8... it wouldn't make any sense that 2.0 and 3.0 were the same gas and have different pressures. Most likely 3.0 is propylene as well.

Facundo Corradini I use mapp gas in my gbbr’s and it has a noticeably sharper recoil impulse and cold weather performance. All of the Nuprol gases perform identically to propane, which is why so many KZbin reviewers were disappointed by it. Run mapp gas through a gun and you won’t be disappointed!
@facundocorradini6 жыл бұрын
I do run MAP Pro ( *not* MAPP, that's a different gas that has been discontinued for ages and would certainly destroy your gun). Map Pro is simply propene (aka propylene). That's what 99% of red gases out there are made of. I would be surprised if 3x was any different.
@xXAust1n46Xx6 жыл бұрын
Facundo Corradini Have you tried the 3.0? I will admit I have not. I’m not about to waste $20 on a scam. All of the KZbin reviews I have seen on the 3.0 are underwhelming. Nugentgl has a great video comparing propane, mapp, and co2 and the mapp is noticeably different from the propane.
@Crlarl5 жыл бұрын
Red gas is (or was) HCFC-22. MAPP and MAP pro are both trade names of the same gas.

What is in 144a? It's not R-144a because that doesn't exist. HFC-134a (R-134a) or "duster gas" is 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane, HFC-143a (R-143a) also "duster gas" is 1,1,2-Trifluoroethane, HFC-152a (R-152a) also also "duster gas" is 1,1-Difluoroethane, "Green gas" or HC-290 (R-290) is propane and R-744 is carbon dioxide. So, what is it?

I'm really struggling at the moment as am using a m93r from kwa but if I use normal green gas it runs way over 350fps which is my sites limit and if I use the nurpol 1.0 the slide often fails to cycle as the pressure isn't enough. Any advice?
@GhostWarriorsAirsoft6 жыл бұрын
Awesome stuff man :) How fast would you say a TM sidearm with plastic slide will go down after using Nuprol 3.0 or 4.0?
@CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR6 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud! It really depends on how much are you actually using it but 3.0 and 4.0 are definitely over the top for a TM gun, I've seen people running green gas like the 2.0 on them just fine during winter periods! No need to go higher than that IMO!
@GhostWarriorsAirsoft6 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude! I'll let the TM nuts in my team know :D
@xXAust1n46Xx6 жыл бұрын
Ghost Warriors Airsoft All nuprol gas is just propane, so you will be fine for a while until the slide wears out. It will wear out but you should get plenty of usage out of it.

@CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR6 жыл бұрын

Ok, so we've been lied to about black gas all along? Weird, also Nuprol 3.0/4.0 is on the shelves in every airsoft store no problem in the U.K. What about Abbey Vertex? Isn't that in between the power of Red and Black gas? Also afaik the absolute most powerful gas other than co2 that I know of is called Guarder Power up Black Gas, I've never tried it, but it seems to be more powerful than nuprol Black (4.0)
@CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR6 жыл бұрын
Actually Nuprol never claimed to sell different types of gases, they even have their formulation on their cans but most of the players not being very knowledgeable when it comes to this kind of stuff assumed green, red and black were actually types of gases rather then different propane formulations, that's my experience at least. They can totally sell the 3.0 and 4.0 as it's gust ethane enriched green gas, nothing wrong with that. I couldn't actually find Abbeys' formulations but looks like the Vertex is in the same category of the 3.0 and 4.0 as far as pressure and optimal temperature range. I'm sure even this Guarder Power Up still is propane based, black gas is just a name thrown out there afaik!
@xXAust1n46Xx6 жыл бұрын
Dizzyfatpigeon The msds sheets are online for abbey gases. They legally have to declare what’s in the product. All just scented propane with a scam marketing label on it.

Chupacabra Outdoor Hopup functions based on friction. Lubricants reduce friction. Lube in the gas goes down the barrel and coats the hopup bucking making it less effective.

How could you say Nuprol 2, 3 and 4 are the same gas?? How could "the same gas" have different pressures? That's simply impossible.
@CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR6 жыл бұрын
What I actually said is that they're all propane based but, the Nuprol 3.0 and Nuprol 4.0 have a small and increasing percentage of ethane, that's what boost up pressure!
@xXAust1n46Xx6 жыл бұрын
Facundo Corradini Because they are all the same gas. They perform identically. Nuprol is just cashing in on the biggest scam in airsoft, scented propane.
@facundocorradini6 жыл бұрын
no, they are not. Each one of them is actually a different gas, and their working temperatures are wildly different. You can use 4x at 0ºC while 2x won't work at that temperature at all. On the other hand, at 30ºC the 2x will perform perfectly fine while the 4x will literally bloat your mags and break them beyond any possibility of repair. 2x is green gas, which is scented propane. 3x is most likely just scented propene. and 4x... I have no idea what that is. But they certainly are different gasses.
@xXAust1n46Xx6 жыл бұрын
Facundo Corradini There’s no way they’d get away with exporting a flammable gas into the US in bulk with fraudulent labeling. I have yet to get my hands in the MSDS sheets for nuprol, but I have seen them for abbey supply, and all their gases are just propane. So with the labeling on the nuprol cans and the composition of competitors gases, I’m sticking with nuprol must be just propane. If you own cans of nuprol gas, just measure the pressure at 20C with a gauge. Easy way to test the composition. Nuprol also claims the cans hold 1 liter of gas while only being 10.5oz. Which is lighter than both propane and propylene, so the whole thing screams “scam” to me anyways.
@facundocorradini6 жыл бұрын
well, most "green gas" manufacturers has been getting away with importing green gas into the US (and every single country in the world where airsoft is played) declared as CH2 FCF3 CH3, which is not only a non-existent formula but also an impossible one as it violates the CnX2n+2 rule of saturated hydrocarbons. So there's that :p
