The WE HK416 is one of the many WE Gbbr using their "open bolt" mechanism. WE Gbbrs offer a good kick and reasonnable performances for decent prices. They have somehow weak internals, which may break after a few time (or even sometimes during the very first magazine...), but Ra-Tech aftermarkets parts allow to make them stronger and more reliable.
The HK416 is no exception. It's not too expensive, it has a good kick and a nice performances. It suffers a bit of cool down effects, but most Gbbrs have this problem anyway.
Note that the HK416 comes with a 14 inch 2 pieces aluminum outer barrel, allowing you to go to a 10 inch barrel to a 14 inch barrel. The inner barrel is 14 inches. On my gun, the inner barrel has been sawed off to 10 inches.

Le HK416 WE est l'un des nombreux Gbbr WE utilisant leur système "open bolt". Les Gbbrs WE ont un bon kick et des performances sympathiques, pour un prix raisonnable. Il ont des pièces internes peut-être un peu fragiles, qui parfois se brisent après quelques temps (voir parfois dès le premier chargeur...), mais les pièces en acier Ra-Tech, faciles à trouver, permettent de les renforcer et de rendre la réplique plus fiable.
Ce HK416 n'est pas une exception. Il n'est pas très cher, a un bon kick et des performances raisonnables. Il souffre un peu d'effets cool down, mais c'est commun à la plupart des Gbbrs de toutes façons.
Notez que le HK416 WE vient avec un canon externe disposant d'une rallonge dévissable, permettant de passer d'une configuration 14 pouces à 10 pouces. Le canon interne en revanche, fait 14 pouces. Sur ma réplique, le canon interne a été scié.

Paolo wolfart castillo Love my WE airsoft replica's. Even if the Scar-L GBB is a little poorly designed, with the barrel extension kit and a decent scope, I can hit ANYTHING on the field. If I can see it, I can hit it. Handles cold weather better than most other brands out there too. Looking at getting a WE G17 soon ;)

It honestly just looks like a typical reload

It uses a gas-piston system derivated from the G36. Point is that the gases from the combustion do not enter inside the weapon. Less heat, less stress on critical parts, better reliability. The gas block is also adjustable, which makes it more reliable with short barrel version or when a silencer is on. The point of this thing was to be a replacement for the M4 in the first place, so they keep the ergonomics.

Plus tu tire avec un Gbb/Gbbr, plus la réplique et le chargeur deviennent froid. Le froid accru conduit souvent à des détériorations des performances de la réplique, voir à des dégazages. Certaines répliques y résistent mieux que d'autre.

1. "Open bolt" in airsoft means you can see inside the chamber, and the bolt locks back upon an empty magazine. Older GBBR's didn't have these features. 2. I'm not Khan Seb so I couldn't say how loud this particular gun is, but GBBR's in general are very loud by airsoft standards. But still, it's airsoft. Probably best compared to an air rifle.

@BackUPDat i they called it "open bolt " because it doesnt have a brass tube which connects the barrel to the bolt carrier. which means pulling back charging handle u will see a brass tube in the chamber instead. my friends prefer to call it "close chamber " not to be confuse with the real steel term

I heard some guy bitch about Umarex GBBRs being shite, but he either didn't know what he was talking about or had one and didn't take care of it. WE GBBs are usually a hit or a miss, but I haven't heard anything bad about this WE rifle in particular. But the major difference is the price. The WE version isn't licensed but the Umarex version is. For an extra $200, the Umarax rifle can give you H&K markings, stock, foregrip and custom magazine.

That explain the severe cooldowns you were experiencing (in this and other GBBRs videos), you should keep filling until you can hear the flow of gas slowing down. 5 seconds might be enough gas to finish a mag, but the more mass the gas has (IE the more liquid propane) the more it will resist cooling down due to evaporation from liquid to gas.

You should get a PTW. I've had mine for about a month, and I freakin' love it! The reliability (and more) of an AEG with the RS dimensions (even more accurate) from GBBRs. It's really amazing. Expensive? Yes, but it's worth it.

Well, it's a typical WE Gbbr. Not too expensive, great kick, but nozzle tend to break easily and sometimes you get a lemon. Plus, of course, the typical Gbbr problems (high maintenance needed, doesn't work great in cold temperatures).

Not really, but it might be a good idea to get spare parts in the begining so you can quickly change if you break something. As long as it works, I don't think you really need to change anything. About the grouping, well, in my personnal experience it tends to change from one gun to the other, because quality control is not the same. If it's not good enough on yours, you can still put a better inner barrel and hop up anyway.

the different sighting apertures "1,2,3 and 4" is originally to compensate for bullet drop on the RS witch 1=100m, 2=200m and so on. The reason why 1 is open is that in heavy snow/rain the hole on 2,3 and 4 usually gets full of water and snow and in low light situations it is easier to use a more open aperture, and at night or if it snows or rains heavily then you naturally don't see far, hence 100m. 1 is alto less obstructive so target acquisition is easier. but it gives bigger room for error

Hello, pour éviter un trop gros dégazage et les 2 ou 3 premières BBs faibles, il suffit de remplir un peu moins le chargeur en gaz. (valve de remplissage trop courte). Bien travailler l'étanchéité des chargeurs et de la réplique, (un petit coup de téflon si nécessaire), un bon huilage/graissage et c'est une petite merveille ! De tout les GBBr que j'ai eu entre les mains, seul le M4 Viper était mieux, mais pour plus du double du prix... Encore bravo pour tes reviews et bonne continuation !

@akihabara senkin. I'm definatley not an expert, but from what I understand the 416 was designed as a better M4, solving the reliability issues of the gas system. It's better suited as an amphibious weapon, transitioning well from sea to land, and better tackles muddy/ dusty environments. It uses the same rail size as the M4 (and pretty much every other 20mm picatinni rail using rifle) so mounting m203s or even aimpoints, eotechs magpul mbuis, is no hastle, as long as the rails are designed for

1. It's called open bolt because when you pull the charging handle, you can see the barrel and everything. In the old WE rifle designs, you would just see a yellow tube. 2. I have the WE Scar, and it's loud only when you shoot it at in a small place ex. A small room (It echoes).

You can get a metal slide kit for the Marui G17s. Then you'll have a full metal TM G17. If you don't want to go that route, look for a used KWA G17. I regret selling mine, it was a great GBB pistol.

I think that cooldown is more like the lack of a gas regulaton to aloud the gas to expand inside the mag chamber. If you notice the G39's, scar, and pdw, dont have much problems like the m4 because the BCG's are smaller so less weight to kick back. but a regulator will be the winner on this gas mags 4shissle

Honestly the WE HK-416 is my favorite airsoft gun and I highly recommend it, but it does use up a lot of gas so buy plenty cans or C02 cartridges!

Frankly I don't know. I like We Gbbr because they work good enough to me and are easy to upgrade with ra-tech parts. GHK guns seem to be good to but I never tried them really. What gun would you like ? M4, AK, something else ?

They're just not the same. They have their own pros and cons. Basically the WE is funnier, but "harder" to use, because of cool down and high maintenance issues. Not to mention mag capacity and weight.

Yes. The term "open bolt" is different for both live fire and airsoft. What you see here is an open bolt airsoft gbbr. A closed bolt gbb generally has a fixed brass tube that you can see inside the ejection port, where as an open bolt does not.

It's a misnomer. "Closed bolt" in the realm of WE refers back to the AWSS system they first released (Escort based system sans HPA). It was utter trash (Not really). The "Open bolt" refers to the lack of the brass tube in the chamber. It uses a completely different operating system.

Technically its not both a carbine and cqc rifle. The barrel extension does come off but its got a full length inner barrel that must be swapped (or cut like I did to mine)

I'm not as familiar with the CM901, but from what I've read, it allows for changing to different rounds just by changing mags. I would assume that both the 416 and the CM901 are going to be about equally amphibious, in that they both handle water better than AR15s. The aforementioned 20 mm rails. The 416 uses stanag mags, same as the M4, and Scar etc, thusly beta mags designed for the m4 will work for the 416 (obviously real steel and airsoft). Essentially, the 416 is an attempt to better the innovations seen on AR 15 type rifles. Is it possible they will be adopted into militaries world wide as a replacement? Maybe- I personally don't think that the gun is innovative enough for the excess cost.

Yeah, I suppose. But the trigger response is still so awesome! I had an AWS Raptor FET installed in my previous gun (KWA SR10) and that had a really good triger response, but my PTW just ups it. It's just brings a smile to my face every time I shoot it, especially on single fire. Haven't had a chance to shoot a Marui Ebbr yet, kinda bums me.
