I remember watching videos just like this in 2010 about how we’d all be flying around in emission free blended wing bodies by 2025. Ultimately, nothing will change whilst Boeing continue to decline and selling A320s is so profitable. The large airliner business is in serious need of disruption.

Honestly I think that flexible and cooling material would be more comfortable... It would stretch to fit your body for comfort and it would circulate instead of how now your back sweats from sitting in those leather seats.

I'm pessimistic about any of this actually coming about 12 years from now. Now vs 12 years AGO, airline cabins (and airports) were.......about the same to be honest. More onboard wifi availability now though, and airlines finally realize an airplane mode exists and your phone doesn't need to be fully off. Smaller seats though.

@@miles5600 They never did. It's simply because technology was exploding and they didn't want to risk it interfering with cockpit VHF radio equipment. So the easiest option was to make a blanket ban even though it did nothing.

All these displays in the cabin will be very power hungry and will produce a lot of heat Im not sure if more and bigger windows wouldn’t be the better solution The computing and thermal management will probably add more weight than additional structure for bigger windows

Ya nothing major changed even with what airplanes would look like 10, 20 onwards from now. But I hope that changes when boomsonic's overture hypeesonic plane changes what that, from the layout, the comfort to the services on planes. Whatever future planes look like in the future I hope it lives up to the hype of the concept visions, ie this video. If such a plane similar to this concept visions were ever to be built id buy tickets to ride that airplane.

Being 24 years old means I don't have many shreds of wisdom to give but one I can confidently say is that never ever ever listen to what a company says. Always base your expectations on the actions a company conducts. They're not legally obligated by that 2035 date. I haven't seen much being done about aviation emissions by airbus yet except strap on a tiny hydrogen engine to the back of a decommissioned a380. Saying they'll use recycled materials is extremely unlikely as safety will probably be a higher priority and finally stop pretending cabins will be luxurious with lots of space, it'll always be packed like sardines! :)

Sooo they intentionally left out how the gates and taxiways would work at airports. These giant delta wing airplane designs will not fit at any current airport. Airports would have to close, demolish terminals, widen / move taxiways, and likely widen / move runways. It’s cost prohibitive, would majorly disrupt travel for years, and airports will lose $… In other words, it’s not gonna happen, especially not in 13-20yrs.
