One thing I like about those two tiny windows, which only the littlest Airstreams have, is that I feel more secure leaving them open like at night at a rest stop than if I only had big windows. I noticed recently one of the vans (I don’t remember what brand) had window stops like you would use to secure windows cracked open in a house. Something I notice as a woman living in an RV alone. Btw, I’m not able to open the big front window myself. You’re supposed to do both latches at the same time to avoid damaging the window and I can’t lean / reach across the table and get enough leverage on both latches at the same time.
@DoesSizeMatter5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I know those window latches can be tough. I can see your point about reaching across to open them but yes those small windows are so special. Thanks for spending your time with us.

Traveling across country in a Casita now but always liked these - one concern is hail storms that you run across in the west and central USA....they'd torture the airstream w/ hundreds of dings/dents.

Being that these Airstreams are all metal construction for the frame and outside surface materials do these units get super hot in the summer compared to rigs made of fiberglass outer shell?
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
Great question and we can only answer it partially. First Airstreams do not have the best insulation factor for cold or warmth. As far as whether the aluminum gets hotter then fiberglass we would say yes. Our actual experience was in the Airstream Nest which is fiberglass and we felt it cooled off well with just the cross breeze from windows. Now when you ask about fiberglass there are 2 types, the fiberglass shell type and the fiberglass laminated wall type. Both of these generally have different types of insulation in them then the aluminum airstreams and the thickness of that insulation will play a big part in how cool they stay. So here is our really general answer. We would expect to need to use A/C in any trailer similar in size to an Airstream in hot weather or have windows with great cross ventilation which most often the Airstream is better at. Hope that helps. thanks for watching

Like the fact that you pointed out your likes as well as your dislikes. Never lose sight of those things that matter to you personally. This has a great layout but for me is too contemporary. Lack of natural wood, I feel lost as you take me through on the tour. This is a clean trailer - laboratory clean. Keep up the reviews, as they are (real world) and from your heart.

Thanks for the kind words. I agree each style/floorplan/manufacturer isn't for everybody. We try to show different rigs so folks can find something they like. Is there an exhaust fan in the shower/toilet area? My apologies if this has alrerady been asked - I didn't go through all the previous comments.
@DoesSizeMatter4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jody, there is a fan in the main area of the trailer and there is a gap at the top of the door to allow for air circulation. So the answer to your question is no not in the shower/toilet area but yes there is one that would ventilate that area. This is a small trailer and as long as air can easily flow from the shower/toilet area the main fan should do the trick. You can see it best at 17:33 in the video. Hope that helps, thanks for watching.

What is the inside length?(floor)
@DoesSizeMatter4 жыл бұрын
The length that AS quotes is from the middle of the hitch to the rear bumper. They don't give a specific length of interior space but you could take the exterior number and subtract the space from the middle of the hitch to the inside of the front wall and then subtract the space from the edge of the rear bumper to the inside of the rear wall and what is left would be the interior length. Hope that helps you. The other number that might be more helpful to you would be the interior floor space from the bathroom door to the edge of the dinette, as this would be the actual useable walking space. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching

@@DoesSizeMatter I wasn't thrilled about Denver....not a big City person. $30 for parking, $12 each to get in. And smaller volume. It's just me and my dog, sometimes a girl friend. I like the smaller ones because I can kinda go off road. But I also plan to stay out for weeks at a time.I could haul a 24 footer with my truck, but I like being outdoors hiking and fishing.
