AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on KZbin are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). We have been snowed on in Island Park, Yellowstone & Grand Teton quite a few times over the years from May thru September! It melts off fast so it's all good. A bad day camping is better than a good day at work!

Thanks Matt, I have been wanting to provide some more video footage of the backup process for people (since this is an issue for many) and I like the way this turned out. We always use the walkie talkies and this was a good example of why (very spotty cell service in GTNP). Cheers

Thanks much. Yes, a lot of our vids have taken a lot of time to put together. Sometimes I wonder why I bother (no one ever seems to notice!), so thanks much for your kind comments. And yes, Airstream camping in a snowstorm is pure fun! Can't wait for the next opportunity for this sort of experience. Cheers

We would love to see your advice on snow/ice preparedness. We got caught in an unexpected ice storm recently (bomb cyclone). We'd checked all the weather apps, called ahead. All was fine until it wasn't. So now we're carrying TV chains at certain latitudes during certain times of the year. But what about on the Airstream? As seasoned travelers, we imagine you two have seen it all. Thanks for all your videos. We're proud students of the Long Long Honeymoon University.

Another awesome video! I'm planning on making a couple of trips to the Tetons in 2018. By the way if you want to experience some awesome time boondocking you should consider Southern Oregon. On a map look for Crater Lake and then scan the area just north of it and also east of it. It's all national forest and the Mt Thielson wilderness area. All along hwy 138 all the way to hwy 97 is all available for dispersed camping and yet you are within 20-50 miles of a pilot station which has diesel and showers plus a Subway restaurant. You haven't lived until you've had your morning cup of coffee (espresso) next to a Ponderosa pine watching the mule deer walk through your camp and the sun streaming through the tree tops. Anyways loved the video and thank you for sharing your adventures with me.

Another very well done video. The moose are amazing. Glad you realize you can't really go outside when mom and kid moose are out there. As mean as buffalo. Your parting shots of the chain hitting the camera, and spitting out the nasty water are priceless. Thanks for posting. How long do you think you could last out there if it stayed that cold?

Dumb question, I’ve been looking at Airstreams and they are rated for 22° F, but you said single digits, well below what they are designed for. Any issues? Yes, I know the tanks get some heat, but you’re pushing the envelope, I’m curious what if any issues you might have experienced at those temps.?

Do you believe by hugging the coast at this time of yr he could avoid snow? We know Tacoma well If you have ever came in through the bottom of washington that's where we are going just accross Astoria bridge I'm not worried Florida to Texas but then I don't know weather to go up through coast or if it won't make a difference

@LongLongHoneymoon
@LongLongHoneymoon 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and you are right to be worried about ice & snow in WA state. We have family in Tacoma and visit annually. There are some mountain passages that will require snow chains during winter. Tough towing out there even in dry conditions! Definitely do some homework with regard to which highways you intend to take.

What do you do to keep your freshwater and other tanks from freezing . At night? I am guessing you unhook your water hose...if hooked up.
@LongLongHoneymoon
@LongLongHoneymoon 7 жыл бұрын
Definitely unhook the water hose. We run the propane heat furnace to keep the pipes warm.
@dougdukes1039
@dougdukes1039 7 жыл бұрын
So just by running the furnace the water tanks and lines won't freeze? Even in single digit cold?
@LongLongHoneymoon
@LongLongHoneymoon 7 жыл бұрын
You really don’t have to worry about your holding tanks freezing, unless you’re spending the entire winter in minus-degree temps. As you heat your living space, some of that warmth radiates out to your tanks, keeping them from icing up. www.airstream.com/5-tips-living-riveted-winter/
