You're not an asshole. Your mother just wants you to feel bad because she can't live with the fact that she wasn't a good mother to you. so she tries to make your life harder, so that she feels better (doesn't make sense at all but it's normal that people living a bad life try to put others in an even worse situation so they feel better than you). also even if you gave her money, she would find another way to make you feel bad. so don't feel bad for living a good life now after what you've gone through with her. I also believe that this sentence "she wouldn't have given your sister to you if she knew you had money" isn't true because it sounds like she was not inly in financial problems but also in mental problems. and since she wasn't a good mother to you, she would surely not be a good mother to her either
