It dosnt suprise me at all karmapa chose rebirth as nomad from tibet infact wat else would he choose ? The tibetan people r a superb race. A nomad of tibetan plateau living with yaks.

However, the letter says in the year of the one who tills the land. Neither Ogyen nor Thaye were born in the year of the buffalo according to Tibetan astrology. The year 1984 would be the black buffalo, the year 1985 is the buffalo according to Chinese tradition, not Tibetan.
