And that sururu part would translate pretty well to kahakka or kärhämä. Both pretty close in their meanings Very close to the definition of scuffle, atleast in my opinion

In finnish folklore Ajatar is an evil female spirit.She lives in the woods located at the mountains of Pohjola,she is described as having "hair-plait reached to her heels and whose breasts hung down to her knees.She is closely associated with serpents, and is often depicted in modern art as a dragon or half-humanoid and serpentine figure

@A&P-REACTS the chorus goes something like this when translated to english: There is only the dew of the droplets The string of the pearls of tears Before my eyes of blue Empty look of darkness When one obeys it It is hard to come back Honor for honor The same slur with the vilified. (The end of the regular chorus) (Longer end chorus part continuing) When I take a look in a mirror No one looks back at me Who would want to witness Bare witness to this hell The earth will accept me I have been here before The song is about grief, suru meaning grief or sorrow. Atleast to me the song is about the sorrow of existence, pondering about the reasons to live after you have seen the darker parts of life. Really hard to translate the idea and feel to english but maybe someone gets atleast a general idea of the theme. Ajattara is a great band🤟🏻 Also the tattoos of Mynni Luukkainen(the bald badass looking guitarist dude, of Sotajumala(vocals), Horna(Bass and second vocals and Ajattara to name a few) has a back tattoo depicting lucifer and with the text lvcifero as it would be written in old times. But as a contrast he also has a tattoo of her childs fathersday card on his lower back. Tough looking and surely a tough guy but still a nice dude. Have met him twice and he is a genuinely nice and funny dude. He said that he saw some old movie as a kid and wanted to look like some thug in it. Tattooed, mean looking and all that. I think its safe to say he succeeded in that.

You should check the Noitumaa acoustic album. It's one of the greatest pieces of Finnish metal ever made. Ajattara's lyrical themes are around Finnish mythology, spell poetry tradition, fucking, murder, life and death. It takes you back to the centuries in history, where words had magical power and death was an every day thing. Huge contrast to the modern day Finland, but it's like a painting of a brutal, savage past of the north. PS. That's not a lake. It's the Baltic sea.

You guys should check out Ajattara's song by the name "Tahdon" - you might like it :) Also, if it wasn't mentioned before, "suru" means sorrow in English (cba to check lol).

Don't worry, Finland is pretty safe country. Sure there is some people you are good to be wary about in any country, but you probably spot it early on if you happen to meet one. I hope you are going to make some announcement video and talk maybe about your expectations of your trip to Finland. Throw out some questions maybe that we Finnish followers/subscribers can try to give good and honest tips and answers to. I sure am waiting your post travel video! Welcome to the land of thousand lakes and more so metal bands :,D

In the early 90's, I thought I'd hit the rock bottom of desolation and ruin with Paradise Lost's Lost Paradise. For a decade or two or so (who counts) that might've been the truth. Until Pasi apparently decided that Amorphis wasn't miserable enough for his tastes. Then Ajattara spawned, and oh man, if I thought something was miserable before, this topped it all. Consider youselves lucky not to understand the lyrics. They offer no comfort, no rest, no peace. This is something not to be taken in larger dozes. I've found myself listening to a couple of songs when in the right mindset, but consuming a full album at once might be too much, so have caution. And I mean this all in the greatest sence of awe. When feeling a bit down, nothing pushes the right buttons like Ajattara. But just for a short while. Can't imagine how they can keep up with this fulltime. Some other tunes to check out: "Kituvan kiitos", "Katumuksen kyinen koura" and dozens of more. Peace and Love, take care.

Amorphis was in it's early years awesome, since Ruoja left'em they've done some good but like as it was. Of Ajattara, Yhdeksäs was the one that took me, and hasn't let go. This new album is too black imo, used to be dark and that was the perfection..
@hannutaskinen20323 жыл бұрын
There is something really dark in the album noitumaa by Ajattara. Its propably not to taste of your typical metalhead and it might not be as dark if you dont understand the lyrics. But no bad Ajattara album so far and hopefully never.

Pasi Koskinen used to sing clean vocals in Amorphis. Not as good singer as Tomi J. but still has an unique voice and I really liked some old Amo songs with him. Would be cool if you react to some song like Divinity for example.

Which of them sings better is a matter of (subjective) taste, I personally in Amorphis between Joutsen and Koskinen definitely prefer Pasi's vocals, both clean and harsh. His voice and stage presence are truly unique. And Divinity is a masterpiece, lyrics are also written by Pasi and are very emotional and deep.

"every person in finland has a band". You are not far off with that notion. Half of my friends are in a band, or were in a band, OR they have some sort of project going on (band project or on their own). And none of them are "professional" musicians. All of them fly under the radar, unless you go deep underground. And if you are not in a band, you most certainly know someone who IS in a band. And this is how it is now. 10-20 years back... bands. Bands everywhere. No matter where you looked. That guy has a band, you have a band. Your cousins brothers girlfriend has a band, and for some reason you listen to them.

right ...lads lads lads, im from the same place as ozzy, im lucky to grow up in the midlands in uk , home of english metal. the midlands, and ozzy's midlands accent has been genuinely voted, time and time again, to be the worst accent in england and the biggest turn off accent. ... he comes from same place as rob halford, hence they soumd the same. im 45 and this has been like this for as long as i can remember. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/11745186/Brummie-accents-worse-than-staying-silent-study-shows.html
