I read somewhere that Wilfred Brambell In real life was actually only 13 years older than Harry H Corbett, yet in the show he was playing his dirty old man father.

It was the same with Harrison Ford and Sean Connery. They played father and son in Indian Jones and the last Crusade when there was only 12 years of age difference between them. Then there was Kelsey Grammer and John Mahoney on the US sitcom Frasier. Mahoney was just 14 years older than Grammer.
