Pancake Ninja i believe is just tyler’s thoughts about glorification of suicide and how people just care about people when they die and how some people use suicide as form to teach a lesson he says in the lyrics something like “to use as weapon” when like u shouldn’t do that, suicide is never an option and he makes clear that he is not necessarily judging people’s reason to take their own lives but he says that to use this to teach a lesson is even a bigger mistake, and to celebrate life is the right thing to do.

In neon gravestones around the 2:45 mark a vulture starts screeching. A vulture is on the cover of the album. I wanted to know the meaning of the bird so i looked it up. "The Mayans had their ideas about bird symbolism. To the Mayan mind the vulture was observed as a death eater. As a consumer of death, the Mayan felt the vulture could also convert death to life. So, the vulture was considered a symbol of cleansing , renewal and transformation." It makes so much sense. Symbol, of cleansing, renewal and transformation" it ties the whole song, the whole album. This kids are lyrically geniuses and the amount of detail is astonishing. I'm speechless.

Legend is the song Tyler wrote for his Grandpa before he passed away. He added the outro bit after he died (hence the ‘after it happened’ line) and I believe he may have added the final bit about appreciating our elders in Neon Gravestones after he passed as well. Lines that relate directly to situations we know about in Legend are “my middle name,my goodbye” since Tyler’s middle name is Robert and his grandpas name was Robert. “I wish she knew you” relates to the fact that his niece was born just less than a month after Robert died. The first verse talks about how he did write almost the entire song while he was alive, except for the last bit as I already said, and it also says something along the lines of “I’m sorry I did not visit, did not know how to take it when your eyes do not know me like I know you”. Though we don’t know exactly why he says this lyric, it can lead us to believe Robert may have had Alzheimer’s or some sort of memory loss or maybe since he mentions the eyes he may have had trouble seeing, im leaning towards the former.

Love the album! Listened pretty much non-stop since Friday @ 6 AM! Can’t believe I didn’t check for it just after midnight..what was I thinking?! Of the early released songs I liked Jumpsuit & how it automatically leads into Levitate the best. Musical sewing in my mind....Chicago did it, INXS did it, many others-I just love that. For the rest of the album I have so many favs-morph, cut my lip, legend...have to agree no bad tracks (not that I expected there to be any)! Thanks for reviewing it!

According to Tyler, Trench is kinda Blurryface pt 2. It's about the journey from that dark depressive place to the light, happy, fun place. Haven't gotten there yet, probably will by the next album or even the next, we've just started the journey in between the two. The Trench. There's also a narrative here. About a man running from a city called Dema (that deep, depressive place), going through Trench to journey to something better. Dema is ruled by 9 Bishops, representing 9 insecurities, "Nico and The Niners". The Banditos are the group of people who have escaped Dema and are in Trench. In "Bandito", he speaks about becoming one of them.

No need to be loud or make funny crazy overreactions, no hating on any artist, always an open mind, and you get not only to the meaning of the song, but the quality of singing-instrumental. Id say you should be up there with Anthony Fantano, of course he has a lot more knowledge when it comes to reviewing music so he's a lot more harsh but you come with the emotions, something that I feel he lacks when it comes to pop-mainstream music.
