Hi Jerry, My husband I are traveling to Puerto Vallarta in a few months. Then we want to take a few days to visit Lake Chapala. We are retired military in our 40's and are hoping to visit often (maybe even move in the future). What is the best, and safest way to travel from Puerto Vallarta to Lake Chapala? Love this bed and breakfast! I'll check into it.

That is expensive for Mexico

Things are going up up up all over the world. We just got back from Cambodia and it cost me two dollars for a couple coffee. I was totally surprised. They don't grow coffee there I think that's the reason it cost two dollars for a cup of coffee.

Thank you for your newest video Jerry. I look forward to the information you provide. Only 16 months until my wife can retire and we will be on our way down soon after that. Hoping to meet up with you and Lori someday soon to thank you in person.

Congratulations only 16 more months that is good this way it will give you ample time to get all of your stuff organized and you Will be ready for the great adventure. We have found that it takes more time in preparation then we think it will. So it's good starting early and finish early so this way you're relaxed. One more time check out this video see this Q&A Mexico kzbin.info/www/bejne/hl6ooY19r7x8eas

Great video! What medical plans do both of you have? Do you feel Mexico is a better location to live than Thailand?
@JerryBrownTravels8 жыл бұрын
Great question traveling man. What insurance company do we have to. We are self insured here in Mexico. In the United States just for Laurie it cost us $8000 year to ensure her. So we are self insurance in Mexico and don't spend nearly that much. Majority of the people down here pay all there medical expenses out of their own pocket. As an example to see a doctor here you pay around $15 For a office visit and in the United States please pay $35 Plus we have to pay for our monthly insurance premiums. So even though we pay out of our own pocket we l it's cheaper. Thailand or Mexico? We like Mexico it's closer to the United States, they have good medical services here, more ex pats from United States and Canada, you can drive here and use your own car etc. etc.. Easier to get a visa in Mexico Long terms living here. In Thailand when you fly it you can only get a 30 day visa Mexico you can get a six month visa. We love Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, all of Southeast Asia we keep that for our adventure travel and we enjoy Mexico to live set up a home base.
