Hello! Do you happen to know what can substitute the Mirin and Sake? I can't take alcoholic stuffs because of my religion. Does marinating the eggs without them still tasted good? Thank you, sir 😊

Hi! Thank you for the question. Personally, I would replace them with the same amount of water and a small piece of kombu, along with a bit of extra sugar. I hope this answer helps!

From what my friend told me (he is Muslim), there is no issue with it as alcohol evaporates when you cook it. If needed and if you know how to do it, you can also try some kind of "flambée" to make sure the alcohol is completely out. This way there is the taste, but no alcohol, so it's ok with his religion

@@Itsukazutrap Hi, there! Yes, there are probably some Muslims who believed in what you said (evaporating the alcohol content). But from what I've learned and what I believe, the Muslims are prohibited from consuming anything that has touched/mixed with khamr (alcoholic beverages). Not because the alcohol content itself. Because there are fermented food with very little alcohol content we can eat, such as kimchi or pickles. So it won't matter if the food now has 0% alcohol in it, it was mixed with a khamr. Therefore, we can't eat it anymore, sadly. (But ofcourse, if there are no other food we can eat except that, we can eat it to survive. Doesn't mean we have to starve until we die 😂) Tldr; We just try not to consume anything that's been strictly prohibited by God. Maybe some scholars and your friend interpreted the rulling differently, and that's okay too. I might be wrong and your friend might be right. But from what I know, the majority of Muslims interpreted the rulling like I did. Thank you for trying to help me, kind stranger.👍 May God always be with you. 😄🙏

where do you buy those ingredients? Do they carry those items in the international section at the grocery store?

Hi Lisa! I recommend seeking out an Asian supermarket in your area to find everything you need, alternatively you can check online (Amazon US has a lot!) Sometimes grocery stores have Japanese ingredients, but I think it depends on the store and whether there's demand for it where you live. Hope that helps!
