Train കളുടെ ഓട്ടതിന്റെ ടൈം ടേബിളും train കളുടെ നിയന്ത്രണവും റെയിൽവേയുടെ ടോപ് ലെവലിൽ നിന്നാണ് തുടങ്ങുന്നതെങ്കിലും, train ൽ loco പൈലറ്റ്മാർ ഒക്കെ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും ശരിക്കും train കളെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നത് സ്റ്റേഷൻ മാസ്റ്റർ മാരാണ്. ഒരു സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്ത് കടക്കണമെങ്കിൽ അടുത്ത സ്റ്റേഷനിലെ സ്റ്റേഷൻ മാസ്റ്റർടെ അനുവാദം വേണം; അതിനിടയിൽ ഓട്ടോമാറ്റിക് ബ്ലോക്ക്‌ സെക്ഷൻസ് ഉണ്ട്‌ എങ്കിൽ പോലും. അത്രയ്ക്ക് പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട്, power ഉണ്ട്‌ ഒരു സ്റ്റേഷൻ മാസ്റ്റർക്ക്. ഓരോ റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷന്റെയും ഭരണാധികാരി അവിടത്തെ സ്റ്റേഷൻ മാസ്റ്റർ ആണ്. അങ്ങനെയുള്ള ഓരോ സ്റ്റേഷൻ ഉം കടന്നല്ലേ ട്രൈനുകൾ പോവേണ്ടത്. അതിന് ആ സ്റ്റേഷനിലെ സ്റ്റേഷൻ മാസ്റ്റർ track തയ്യാറാക്കി റൂട്ട് ഒരുക്കണം സിഗ്നൽ കൊടുക്കണം. സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ ട്രാക്ക് ഒരുക്കുന്നതും സിഗ്നൽ നൽകുന്നതുമായ പ്രോസസ്സ് തന്നെ വളരെ complicated ആണ്. അതിന് സ്റ്റേഷൻ മാസ്റ്റർ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ഈ പാനലും അതിന്റെ controls ഉം, ഒക്കെ എങ്ങനെയാണ് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതെന്നും, അതുപയോഗിച്ച് എങ്ങനെയാണ് ആ സിഗ്നലുകളും track ലെ പോയിന്റ് കളും ഒക്കെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നതെന്നും, ഓരോ സിറ്റുവേഷൻസിലും സ്റ്റേഷൻ മാസ്റ്റർ എന്താണ് ഇതിൽ ചെയുന്നത് എന്നും, കൂടെ ഇതിന്റെയൊക്കെ സേഫ്റ്റിയും എല്ലാമാണ് ഈ വിഡിയോയിൽ.

Block Section രണ്ട് സ്റ്റേഷനുകൾ തമ്മിൽ ആണ്. സാധാരണ ഗതിയിൽ ഒരു സ്‌റ്റേഷനിലെ last stop signal (advanced starter), മുതൽ മുന്നിൽ ഉള്ള സ്റ്റേഷൻ്റെ Home Signal വരെ. Block Section-ൽ ഒരു സമയം ഒരു തീവണ്ടി മാത്രമെ ഓടാൻ പാടുള്ളു.
